Road trip: California-Utah-Washington

@luckymike, I have found road trips a lot of fun. Utah is a beautiful state. I’ve been thru a lot of it’s National Parks. I particularly liked Capital Reef. We went out on a walk at night with a Park Ranger. I have never seen more stars anywhere in my life.:)

You trip looked like great fun and kudos to your beautiful E420 for performing pretty flawlessly.

I believe there’s a HOW-TO on compressor replacement. I did this job last year.

Gerry, just finished reading your write-up. What a labor of love. Lots of great detail. Thank you.

Oh what a wonderful presentation of a great trip. Wish I could do the same from say here in Nj take the northern route drive all the way up through Connecticut into Massachusetts New Hampshire to Maine then west all the way to Washington and down into Oregon to California. Then come back the southern route we took when we moved to Nj from California back in November ‘93. Thanks Mike.

@Gogi,

I/We kinda did your trip in reverse leaving SoCal going up thru Utah to Yellowstone park and then due east. Around Chicago I we entered Canada and came back into the US at Buffalo, NY/ Niagara Falls all the way up into Bennington, VT where I grew up. From there we went part way down the east coast thru Manhattan, NY to Washington, DC where we cut inland to New Orleans, LA where I lived as a teenager. From there it was due west on interstate 10 back to SoCal. Around 15K miles in 35 days. Unfortunately not in my 500E but in a 72 VW bus starting in June of 1975.

It was a lot of fun with great memories. You should give it a shot if you have the time:)
