Speed Dependent Volume - Head Unit or Tuner?

Where is this controlled?
I'm starting to get a slight popping/static sound when it moves passed the mph intervals. Don't really have a way to isolate without having an extra unit. Ideas?

I believe the head unit uses the same Hall speed signal which comes from the back of the speedo (yellow/green wire). Might be able to disable the function by disconnecting the appropriate wire from the radio? Otherwise, it's the radio causing the noise, if you want to fix it.

Nice, thanks Dave. Seems easy enough.
Definitely want to fix it. The popping follows the decibels of the radio, so when I'm jamming to Tom Jones at 11...:deniro::LOL:

Yeah. @kwontumspeed I assume by the phrasing of your question (tuner vs. head unit) you have a 500E, and, therefore, a Becker 2 pc system with the tuner module in the trunk?

See wiring diagram below. @gsxr is right ---- it is the GN/YL wire and that wire only goes to the Head Unit ---- and not to the tuner module in the trunk.

Thanks @Jlaa.
Wonder if the system is giving me a sign of an impending failure, and hopefully not the speedo. It's a combined pop/crackle for the half second that it passes the speed mark on its way up and down in velocity. Anyone else experience this with the 036 system?
