Head unit for 500e

I'm the last person here that can talk intelligently about electronics and radios however It is known that the early 036 audio systems are very time consuming and expensive to upgrade. Did you install the Continental? If so, you may still want to go forward. Have you read any of the threads on this subject?
Replacing the stock 1992 head unit (Becker 1432) is difficult to do properly. Since you already have the Conti head unit, it shouldn't be a problem to switch to another aftermarket unit, assuming you're content with the sound of the current system.
What does the Porsche head unit provide that Conti does not? I'm not familiar with that particular Porsche HU.

I just think it adds a Porsche touch. Conti came with car. Is the Becker 1432 OE for the ‘92 500e? Having done one W124 retro fit for aftermarket and currently struggling to put my 500E back to factory 
I can say that wiring in the Porsche unit shouldn't be too bad to replace the already aftermarket Conti.
The Conti obviously already has the speakers rewired and the fader wheel by-passed... that's the trick to going from 1432 to aftermarket.
I love the idea of the Porsche HU and wish I'd have thought of it myself!!!

All speakers are correctly wired and sound is adequate as I’m a jazz and classical fan. Spend 15 minutes on the phone with the folks from Becker Autosound in New Jersey. They're probably your best source to talk through your options with both of those units.
Becker Auto Sound LLC | Sound System Repairs Saddle Brook NJ ... They may be able to rebuild and/or retrofit bluetooth into one or both.

That looks like a nice unit. Possibly plug & play on 1994-up Mercedes, based on the photos of the rear with the connectors:

Although it would be a cool look, I decided to keep the Continental as I did not want to disturb any of the woodwork. All I need is a scratch...

It's pretty easy to remove the woodwork without scratching , the shifter wood is scarier to handle because you have to remove the pry the shifter plastic off. Either way, you have a great radio that looks period correct.
Plus, I wouldn't fall for the typical Porsche trope that some people play into with the 036.
