Hello Dean,

Nice pictures, thanks for sharing... I wonder if your trip to Geneva revived your interest on horology pieces? Can't wait to listen to those stories as well.

Cheers,

Hi Ernesto! Yes, the interest in timepieces has never left...the main purpose of our trip was to attend the annual Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie. Maybe this forum needs a Cars and Wristwatches thread? I'll start...

Some may call it heresy, but I call it the Sea Shadow; a custom DLC Vacheron Constantin Overseas!

Bring it on Dean, no one better than you to start this thread ;-)

Congratulations on your VC Overseas, it must have been hard to take the decision to custom make and personalize this remarkable timepiece with a PVD coating, but the end result is magnificent. You got to love the "stealthy" resemblance.

I seem to remember characters on 500Ecstasy with the names "Omegabenz" and "RolexBenz190E" whose names are a strange mixture of Watches and Benzos....

I'm getting ready to buy one of these watches, from Mondaine, of Geneva, which is a licensed replica of the clocks found in all Swiss railway stations. This particular clock was introduced by the Swiss Railway system in 1944, and you can also see it as the clock face on the iPad....

Love those Swiss Train Clocks, Gerry! They are ubiquitous on the SBB and we thoroughly enjoyed taking trains during our Swiss holiday. Getting from Geneva to the ski resort of Wengen involved four trains but they were so well timed and so very comfortable that it was a pleasure vs driving in unknown territory. Now our trip up to Piz Gloria took another two cog trains and three cable cars but the best train of all was the one through the Eiger :-0

Wow , Dean! A DLC VC ! A Good timepiece is kinda my weakness too - wish I can afford more.

I doubt that I'm in your league but I'm considering having my "50th anniversary Sub" refinished in DLC, sorta like the one below:

Heard of these guys in Mayfair, London? http://titanblack.co.uk/collection

Cool bing, that would be one sweet Sub. DLC definately the way to go with coatings. Who are you considering to do the work? I've heard good things about Black-Out Concepts in Geneva.

What's Your EDC Dump?

Everyday Carry (EDC) is basically the equipment that you carry with you on a daily basis that is considered essential.

EDC dumps can be anything from a simple kit which consists of lip balm and a small knife, or an "all out" full tactical option to include a firearm, knife, pepper spray, taser, tactical pen, etc.
