Since I didn't know where to post it, I will post it here ( you can move it where you wish )...

For the longest time, my car was making a "noise " in the right rear every time that I hit a bump!!...
I looked around, emptied the car, shake and push on it, and asked my 2 different mechanics ( in Maine and Florida) to look into it!!!.
Well, one suggested one bushing that we changed, but it was not that....

So , anyways, I lived with it for almost 4 years...it wasn't that bad .

Around December of last year ( 2020) , I changed my shocks and struts with the help of someone.
Went to test drive my car, and the noise was GONE!!!!!!!!
Turned out that whoever did my shocks 4 years ago ( a small repair shop in my town) forget to put one bushing between the shock and the body of the car!!!!!
I probably didn't notice it when I left the place 4 years ago, as I also had lower springs ( H&R) put as well, and I drive with the radio on...

Anyway, that is my first stupid story :)

Now story #2 :

I have been driving with vibration for 2 years !! mostly at highway speed which increased past 75mph...

A lot of things were bad on the car ( driveshafts center bearing and support, rear boot torn, flex disc.., tie rod) ..ALL WERE FIXED, but I still had vibrations!!
Change tires twice, had a couple of alignments...and NOBODY COULD FIND THE ISSUE , which was actually super simple!!!
My BBS wheels didn't come with hub centric rings, so I didn't know about it!!!.... I finally learned while watching a youtube video about aftermarket wheels.
Orders the BBS rings from ECS tuning , installed them : NO MORE VIBRATIONS :)

Thank you :) ;)
Don't be stupid like me :)

About 10 years ago I thought the ~15’ of snow around a big brush pile at the edge of a field was wide enough to keep the brush fire from spreading to the field, obviating the need for a burn permit.

After ~20 min the snow melted and fire started spreading across the patchy dry field, heading for the thick woods.

15 minutes of failing to beat the fire dead left me gasping for air and crawling the 250 yards to the house phone to call the volunteer fire department.

Over the next 20 minutes a dozen locals arrived one by one and after taking a quick look before spreading out and getting down to firefighting, each one said to me “Been there, done that”.

Several days later a pickup truck with NH Dept of Forests & Lands insignia on the side came up the driveway with a pair of Forest Rangers wanting to talk about the permit-less fire they heard I had.
I immediately pulled out my wallet and asked “Can I pay for that on my VISA card?”
Barely suppressing laughs, they left me a copy of the NH Outdoor Burn Regulations instead of a $250 fine.
And the younger guy, as he got back in the truck, said “Been there, done that”.
The older guy just nodded.
