Szvook owners thread deleted

Well, well, well...

To my knowledge is this the first deletion of an owners thread, and the reason is a cat & dog fight between Gerry and Steve (szvook). I find it very disappointing, but also surprising that we should see such a low level here. What you two guys stir up between yourself, the reason and the grade on it, and who's the most offending party, is in fact not interesting - the only fact I notice is that this is going on between you two - and no one else.

We are all here of the sole reason that we have an 124.036, including the subforum car types. 500Eboard is created and very well driven by Gerry based on enthusiasm, even to his own cost, and we are all VERY thankful for that! It is also kept clean from advertising and integration with social web sites, and watched for various intruders. But it's still a good roof heigt here for oversteps, and the members manage to solve such issues and put them behind.

It is great to see the members are socializing and develope closer contacts, however - the driving factor is the invaluable data about our cars collected here. The greater part of the content is given by the members, despite we cannot claim any kind of intellectual property rights on the given information. So all contribution is given free and based on enthusiasm.

Despite that cat & dog fight, we cannot ignore the fact that Steve has contributed quite a lot during his membership, even being one of the top posters. All those posts are still available, but I also want his OWNERS thread available. It contains pics and information about a good looking and well maintained 500E, tastefully equipped, and track driven with care. So when personal issues for some reason cooks over in one end, I sit stoically in the other end focusing objectively on what I'm here for - the 500E/E500.

If the members support this statement I guess they give their thanks. But I don't need any replies, explenations, excuses or whatever comment...it is no need to discuss this any further. The message is that szvook's owners thread is cleaned from the later negative posts, and reopened.

SZvook's OWNER thread was not permanently deleted, and is, in fact, fully intact.

It was removed for a "cooling down period" of a few weeks, and will be restored. This action has been discussed among the administrators of this forum and all have been fully aware of the action being taken. There is not an attempt to "censor" or delete anything -- only to provide a period of cooling off.

This "cat fight" as you term it, was initiated BY him posting under a false name, and was NOT initiated by myself. The fact of the matter is, that the posts made on this forum by SZvook over the past few days were un-called for, inappropriate and against the rules that I have stated here several times that civil discourse should be maintained. And that means no name-calling with malicious intent; implied or overt threats of physical harm; and so on. In this case, a private (and unlawful) threat to my own safety and well-being was received by me via e-mail, and re-iterated on this forum as a "promise" to carry it out.

SZVook is no longer welcome on this forum and will not be tolerated under ANY member name due to his actions, but that does not mean that any of his previous posts will be permanently deleted.

After some consultation and discussion with other administrators on this forum, the thread was "soft" deleted and will be restored -- fully intact -- in the future. The actions, insults, discourse and mentality of SZvook speaks for itself, and does not require me to make any further statements.

If you have an issue with any of my actions in the future, such as public accusations of me deleting members' posts (however negative they may be), it may be a better course of action to contact me via Private Message to determine what happened, rather than posting a public thread on the matter.

If you do not like the level of discourse here, or my actions to help maintain order, I strongly recommend that you start another forum. Then you can experience how time-consuming, monetarily costly, and difficult it is to maintain the "pure" utopia of ONLY a 500E/E500 car forum that you desire.

P.S. You may also want to know that SZvook left the forum of his own volition last April 2014, and has not contributed any information or posts since that time. I would not place the overall value of his posts and "contributions" to be greater than any of many dozens of other members here. And in fact, there has been NO outcry since April 2014 about him being gone.
