This is great info, thank you for sharing the link(s)

We tried to buy all new leather (front seat) covers for my friend's Ltd car here in 2006 MB , but we were too late; none left.

We were able to get a shift knob and steering wheel new though in the 'purple' (grey) color (which turns out was a very poor match with the existing and could not be used)

Hi Jimbo,
because you still need leather? If you still get limited leather at mercedes , of course, does not fit the new color to the old leather.
I can mix the colors to match the old leather. It always looks better if you do everything at once.

Oh they look nice. I wonder about the quality, though. has anyone here tried these? and would it really be worth the money I'd be spending? I'm thinking of getting new car seat covers as my old ones have some small lacerations on them.

Hello AppleJuz

the quality is the same like modern new car leather. My work is testet by DIN EN ISO 11640 (Veslic). Can somebody else repair the Limited- leather?

How about non-limited leather for our 500e's? My side bolster is in very sad shape in the driver's seat.

Actually, the center painted sections on the fronts just need to be re-freshened, the black leather is in nice shape still...will be contacting you soon on moving forward with the repairs. Vielen Dank !

that wasnt even funny.looks like totally garbage...is that really a repair?or did i misunderstand the whole reply?

It is not really a repair , or depends how you apply it I guess . It's designed as a protective cover on the driver side bolster where it wears mostly . So if one wants to prevent this area from wear and tear , then it's not a bad idea . But if you wanna go cheap and not spend on a proper reupholster on that worn/torn bolster , then it's an ugly repair [emoji2].

A Few limited owners here have used Uli, some even sourced the material from him and have been chuffed with the quality . Though, AFAIK, no one really revealed the cost .

I'd like some of those protective covers, but IIRC they were not cheap...!

:duck:

oh..i didnt understand it was just a protective cover..then i guess its alright:)

but for a permanent repair..no go :)

one thing I did to protect the bolster was to set the memory switch to the rear most position for entry/exit. The second memory brings the wheel to me, and the seat forward just to the point where the seat belt does not have contact with the bolster, or very little depending on length of legs. So its a habit to get into, but if you don't kill the bolster with backside getting in or out, and the seat belt doesn't rub it too, that is a big help. Size matters, I guess! But experiment with the memory positions, it can help reduce the wear/tear where it happens most - getting into the car.

a big thing on avoiding wear and tear to the interior...is also to maintain the leather and do treatments to the leather.keep it MOIST :).this is as important tooo to keep the leather from beeing worn out..as leather will wear either you like it or not..:)
