Trans fitment for '95 S420-S500

I feel you guys will know the answer to this question because the E420 and E500 would pose a similar scenario:

I have an early '95 S420. It needs a transmission. I have an early '95 S500 transmission. Aside from first gear start is there anything that would prevent fitment of the 500 trans into the 420?

S500's have SLS rear suspensions and I don't know what that has to do with the trans if anything at all. LOL

You can use either transmission in either chassis, S420 or S500 (or E420 or E500).

The S420 does not have FGS though, both the EPC and the document below indicate it has second gear start, same as the S500 and E500. The 400E only got FGS due to the super-tall 2.24 axle ratio. If you have an S420 with FGS, someone changed the valvebody, or added electronic FGS.

Discussion moved to Off-Topic Discussions, as it is NOT a 500E/E500 direct thread, and rather pertains to a W140.
