Trunk cover spacer

I'm looking for spacers between fuel tank and trunk's back cover. It's NLA from the dealer. Part number for this "spacer" is A124 694 01 97.
If someone has extra set (2) for sale I'm intrested to buy these if they are in decent condition.

I'd like to see picture what the look like, how large items are and what material they are. Then if someone could give some measurements I could make my own parts.:progress:

Part what I'm looking for is circled in red.

Those are not used on the 500E.... or any other USA-spec 124 that I'm aware of. I actually ordered a pair many years ago and when they arrived, I scratched my head trying to figure out what they would be used for on ANY 124 chassis. Klink? They are plastc and a couple inches wide, IIRC.

Hmm, ok. Thanks for info Dave! I wonder why these are marked in EPC that they belong to E500.
So there is nothing between trunk rear panelling and fuel tank? And panelling will attach straight to fuel tank? When I look my trunk I see slots in both side panellings and seems that if back panelling is placed on these slots there will be small space between fuel tank and trunk's rear panelling.

My car has not this OE panelling. Thats why I asked so many questions. Just a custom made MDF panel with cloth upholster as in trunk with aftermarket power amplifier installed. I'm planning to remove this home made installing because it's not original and access to spare wheel is difficult.

IIRC, the EPC shows that spacers for various 124 chassis. I think I had originally ordered it for my 1987 300D and later found it didn't exist on the car... ditto on the E500E.

The rear carpet panel attaches at top & bot sides - there is nothing actually connecting it to the fuel tank, and nothing between the panel and tank.

:banana1:

It's a spacer that goes between the rear speaker grilles and parcel shelf, for models equipped with rear headrests but without rear speakers. Models without rear speakers still came with the grilles
Ah-HA! Thank you for solving the mystery, Aaron... I always wondered about that. I'm assuming the spacer would not be used on any USA-spec 124's as all came with rear speakers...
