• Hi Guest !

    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. If you find helpful information, please register for full membership, and you'll find even more resources available. Feel free to ask questions, and make liberal use of the "Search" function to find answers.

We hope you will become an active contributor to the community!

    Sincerely,
    500Eboard Management

Hello @andrzejprze -

Welcome to the 500Eboard!

The owner of this board has mandated the following rules below and at this link that makes a selling price compulsory - that means asking people to bid for an item is forbidden. Anyways, please have fun here! See below:

If you want to sell your item, make it easy for buyers to assess and decide if further inquiry is warranted, by providing the following minimum required information, thus avoiding buyers from having to ask the same questions every time an ad is posted. Buyers will always have questions, but let’s mitigate the need to do so, by providing:
  1. A general physical description of the item(s)
  2. Serial numbers, model numbers and/or other identifying information
  3. An honest assessment of the operational condition of the item
  4. Pictures that clearly show the item, without hiding defects (i.e. front drivers seat picture? Show the common wear points.)
  5. Asking price is a MUST. Ads without an asking price are subject to removal
If an item is non-working or damaged in some way, that is fine as long as this is noted.

500Eboard Management will delete within 24 hours of posting, all "FOR SALE" posts that do not include helpful information for potential buyers.

Items posted for sale should have direct relevance for 500E/E500 — and at a minimum the W124 and its variants. For-sale items that are for the 400E/E420 MUST be posted to the 400E/E420 section "Parts for Sale" sub-forum. For-sale items that are not E500E relevant, will be moved to the "Off-topic Discussions" sub-forum.

In addition, please take the time to take photos and to prepare your detailed description of the item(s) you are selling BEFORE you post it to this forum. A little extra time taken in the preparation will very likely result in a much faster sale of the item(s) you are advertising. It is merely a common courtesy to the rest of the forum.

Thank you!

Sorry about that I ll correct thread

Is this a factory Mercedes rebuilt gearbox? Or rebuilt by a local shop?

:apl:

why is the price so high? What am I missing here?
Doesn’t C&M hydraulics rebuild these for like $400 ?

Perhaps but it is my estimate, box was rebuild not resealed and considering price movement it won’t get cheaper in time. And yes Tou are right in US is sometimes easier and cheaper to make something happen that in Europe.
