For-sale items that are for the 400E/E420 MUST be posted to the 400E/E420 section "Parts for Sale" sub-forum. For-sale items that are not E500E relevant, will be moved to the "Off-topic Discussions" sub-forum.

In addition, please take the time to take photos and to prepare your detailed description of the item(s) you are selling BEFORE you post it to this forum. A little extra time taken in the preparation will very likely result in a much faster sale of the item(s) you are advertising. It is merely a common courtesy to the rest of the forum.

Is this a factory Mercedes rebuilt gearbox? Or rebuilt by a local shop?

Perhaps but it is my estimate, box was rebuild not resealed and considering price movement it won’t get cheaper in time. And yes Tou are right in US is sometimes easier and cheaper to make something happen that in Europe.
