W463 G320 AC compressor issue

The AC compressor intermittently cuts out and won't re-engage unless I restart the engine. There seems no trend as to when it happens, it can last a couple of days without issues. Refrigerant is full and pressure values are within spec.

Can it be a faulty Klima relay? Where is this relay located? Any other inputs are appreciated.

Thank you and keep safe!

Yes, the M104-powered G-wagens do have a Klima relay. It is located in the relay tray underneath the glovebox on the passenger side of left-hand-drive vehicles. The relay is a black box and has the word "Klima" on the top of it.

The Klima relay is one of the items that controls the A/C compressor; however the system pressure switch also controls compressor operation. If there is not enough pressure in the system (often because of not enough refrigerant), then the compressor will not be triggered.

Thanks Gerry! Will look into the Klima relay first. It is unlikely that the pressure switch is at fault since refrigerant level is full.
