WANTED WTB: FGS - First Gear Start electronic module or FGS valve body

Hello all,

Before going down the FGS 400E/E420 valve body route, I wanted to check whether anyone has an FGS electronic module, for example the Bergwerks unit, for sale? I know it's a long shot but I really want one!

Failing that, my default position is to install a 400E/E420 FGS valve body and achieve 24x7 FGS. It would need to be a complete set i.e. everything to install this onto my 1994 E500 (euro specs car). I am in Dubai so the seller would need to ship here.

Many thanks!

Regards,

Bilal

While you wait, just begin to shift manually. Much more seat of the pants to get the speedo up to the two dots (shift) three dots (shift) assuming you got the room. Evens out the wear as well. I have the valve body and I still often manually shift thru the gears. :D

You can modify your existing.

Locate the governor pressure boost valve. The spring is in front of the valve, the car starts in second. Remove the spring altogether or place the spring behind the valve; then it the car will start in first.

I have n E420 valve body if you need one.

This does not work: ^^^

1) If the spring is removed, the car will start in 1st, but will "skip" 2nd gear. It's insanely annoying. I bought a car with this modification and it drove me bananas.

2) AFAIK the spring cannot be placed on the opposite side of the valve. A different valve (and spring?) is needed, which is found in the .034 VB, and not sold separately. I'm not positive if the valves are interchangeable; I need to take both VB's apart and compare, and get photos...

:bananadeath:
