WANTED WTB LH Module for 1992 500E

I had a very small stumble at idle that was cleared by swapping a friends LH module. Looking to buy someones spare.
Thanks!

FYI - I just picked one up on ebay for $150. There were quite a few on there, and even some with 91/92 date code. Popped it in and no issues.
Check there if none turn up here.

Brian, is the relay clicking under the rear passenger seat cushion, when the idle stumble occurs?

If not, it's a faint possibility the difference between your module and your friend's module is different idle adaptation values. If you have a digital scanner, you can view values on both modules. Also, you could try resetting the adaptation and see if that makes any difference. If your spark plugs aren't gapped to ~1.0mm that's another freebie to try.

As IslandMon said, you may be able to locate one used at a bargain price. Just make sure it's for a 5.0L engine and the proper part number, and has a decent return policy if DOA. I think I have one left (link) but it isn't cheap, lol...

:spend:

Before you buy one, try swapping yours back.
It is not uncommon to have a re-seated module clear up little stumbles.
It is interesting how a bad contact can affect circuit boards and such.
I had a Sony car head unit in a car that was a fairly new unit.
It was going haywire. I cleaned the contact with rubbing alcohol, and it was revived.

Back to the subject at hand.
As GSXR has mentioned in several posts, the clicking under the rear passenger seat is the sign of a faulty LH Module.

Another option might be to have your module's capacitors replaced.

Hi Brian,

My car had a stumble at idle also. When we replaced the capacitors in the LH module it went away.....

Hey All,
There are six Capacitors on the LH Module board, And they are only rated for so many hours of use, when they die the puff up or even leak ....when you replace them it makes sense to replace them all as they are so cheap. The part numbers for suitable replacements are ULD1H220MDD1TD, Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor - Leaded 50V 22UF 20%, & UHE1H101MPD, Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor - Leaded 50 volts 100uF 8x11.5 20%, Nichicon is the MFG. and I bought these from Mouser.com 4 (one spare just in case) of each P/N for $3.24 plus $15.00 shipping. My friends Alex & Aaron at MAX RPM Motorsports identified the problem and the capacitors to buy and did the replacement. This stuff is way over my head and it's really good to have technicians that will go the extra mile to help out their customers. Especially with these older cars that have so may NLA parts.

Cheers,
Boxersix

Hi Stevester,
Thank you for sending the LH Module. I have two, one that works and my old one. Both are from a M.Y. 1992 500E, Bosch PN 0 280 002 512.
The one that you sent is Bosch PN 0 280 002 526. Is this 100% compatible with my car?

Either way, my $.02 says Boxersix is correct. Replace the old Frako capacitors with Nichicons, and drive away. Since you have two, you can have them both rebuilt and have a spare, which is what I did.

Cheers,
