WANTED WTB: Radiator lower support reinforcement

I need a 500E radiator core support (radiator sits on it). Mine is rusted, and they are NLA. Let me know if you've any ideas short of fabricating one. Part number 124-620-5686

Re: Radiator support reinforcement

Is this common to the 034? Or can an 034 part be adapted... been a bunch of these parted lately.

Might add a few photos of what corrosion damage. Are we just talking about the bent tube? Or a bracket. I think we can give a better suggestion if we understand the extent of damage. If it's the tube, ChromMoly tubing is readily available from Aircraft spruce in many wall thicknesses.

Re: Radiator support reinforcement

The support is 036-specific, and totally different than the 034. All other 124's, including the 034, use the same round-tube support with reinforcing brackets at the front. The 036 item is a wide, flat oval without the front supports (to make room for mounting an engine oil cooler).

Other than fabricating one, the only option is to have one CAREFULLY removed (cut off) from a wrecked car (preferably a car that wasn't damaged up front). It is not bolted on, it welds to the frame.

Thats right, I did a try to find, see if MB had that part, NO, I was told BUT the same part for the R129 was available.
I know it is not the same part but very similar and could be made to fit the 036 or the 034.

Similar but not the same... sounds iffy to me. Anyone have photos or measurements of the R129 item? And is the R129 support available new?

UPDATE - the R129 support is p/n 129-620-37-86 and is $525 MSRP.

If the R129 has the same crossection you can use it as donor material. Splicing is would be pretty easy- is it damage in the bottom middle ? Or do you need the lower corners?

Measure the cross-section and you might be able to find something very close. Lots of tubes out there.. Wall thickness would be helpful.
