Should we organize the DC GTG?

As an FYI, Greg/8899 reached out to the organizers who said that, as of right now, the event is still scheduled to go forward this Sunday (after having been rain delayed two weeks ago). They noted that people would likely have to drive past Hunter House to the large parking lots because the lawn might be too muddy.

Some one should change the title of this thread to correct the date.

Had a great time hanging out with 8899 and Melville. Ntrepid was on his way to the show and probably there when I was, but we never were in the same place at the same time. Including Norbert, that would make at least five E500E owners and two cars at the event.

It was 50*F and 25mph winds, so not the most comfortable, and the exhibitors showed up later than usual. The high today is forecasted to be about 60*F, but nice sunny skies after a month of almost straight wet days. We saw some nice cars, but it seemed like many of the older cars stayed home this year. The field was a bit muddy, and you entered through some of the worst of it. My previously clean tires were not so nice looking once I parked and got out of the car. Most of the exhibitors were constantly trying to remove pollen and pieces of leaves that were blowing around.

All in all, we had a very nice time and met some fine people.

It was a great event as usual. Nice to see some fellow 500eboard.com members. Those present were

Spruce500e - drove his E39 M5 and was feather-dusting the engine bay when I caught up with him,
1995E320Coupe (Omar),
Melville - drove his E550...fast but not so exciting
Hollybrook - paint looks great on his smoke silver 036,
Ntrepid - drove his wife's Honda Odyssey....must have been embarassing.
ClassicCarsAllDay - the AMG SEC still looks stunning.

And of course there was the twin to my car in attendance....with just 49k miles and in amazing cosmetic condition.
