Johan! Are you still there, still have the 500? Yeah, I'd say you have missed alot. Lets hope for next season, a trip to Germany, perhaps. Stay tuned. Roger

Don't worry, guys. Yes, it has been sold. But to someone who will treat the car as I did when I first got it - with much love and deep pockets It'll stay in the Netherlands, as well. A win-win, I'd say.

I bought a brand new Tesla Model S Plaid start of 2023, thinking it was the car of my dreams. Yes, it's quick. Very quick. But the car has so many issues (which still aren't all fixed), I found myself scrolling through car trading sites regularly.
Had contact with someone who's planning a fan swap and went above and beyond with his W140, and now I'm back here...
No idea about the details yet, except I won't use an old Merc as Daily Driver anymore. Which vehicle(s) will I keep? Do I want W124 with M119? W140 with M119 or even M120?
I do know I want to work on it myself, actually looking forward to that. Not having small kids helps a lot. So maybe an old clunker and fix it up?
Probably going to my old Mercedes garage tomorrow, to renew the contact.
If you haven't driven a 140 before, go test drive some. They're substantially larger vs the 124. And for 1996-up 140 (with 722.6 transmission / ME injection), replacement keys are a real problem - be careful when shopping. The earlier 140 didn't have DAS (Drive Authorisation) so keys are less of an issue. I think the late 1995's were a transition year though. Watch out for the harness issues on the 140, same years as 124. Oh, same deal (with keys & harnesses) on the 129 also, in case you look at those.
M120 would be fun. Just adds a bit more cost overall, but might be worth it.
