I think it's on the high side in the current market, but it would need a 50% increase to get the crack-pipe title, IMO.

Looks nice in the few photos, but there's not enough info (or pictures) available.

Went back and reviewed the photos of this car... to my eyes, the interior of this one is every bit as clean as many of the really, really low mile examples. I'd like to see under the generic black floor mats, but everything that is visible looks crisp and clean. The exterior, on the other hand, is a bit jarring. The clunky wheels. The monotone repaint. The painted bumper inserts. So much smoke silver.

I am leaning towards Jonie13's opinion. Park Place specializes in exotics and high end restorations. They provide onsite service and extensive detailing services. I have heard that nearly 40% of the cars they represent are consignments which for an auto dealership is an excellent business model. As we all know this car has been offered on local CL and one must assume the owner/seller has on numerous occasions dealt with many obscure questions, requests and low ball offers. I have encountered a CL potential buyer who during a test drive with me in the car broke 100mph in a MB R129. One event like that would make a private seller "sh*t his pants". Many people these days (some wealthy) are donating cars to charities and taking the tax credit rather than have a stranger come to their home. We live in a different world today, nothing like Mayberry when Andy was sheriff.

Agreed, except for the map pockets peeling away and off color shifter. This car goes to remind me that modifications of E5E body and interior are completely at the owner’s risk. Some cars are so bang on perfect from the factory that changing anything is a value deleting proposition, sans 10% for taste (factory options, stereo, and basically nothing else). Running gear provides a bit more freedom, but minimalism is still the rule of law. IMO, the E46M and W220 AMG are also that way — “don’t touch it” is my usual advice, although the E46M world never listens. It’s a car people buy specifically to mod the hell out of it. It’s the rare German car that people treat like a Japanese ricer — I don’t understand it, actually, but it’s part of the culture. The kids buy them and turn them into drifters, like Honda’s or Toyota’s.

Back to this car, new black bumper inserts would do WONDERS, IMO. And as much as I support Fifteen52, I don’t like those wheels on this car. Since they’re quasi-custom anyway he would have been better off with a Bronze wheel and Black bumper inserts, still IMO. All that said, the wheels and shifter are easily reversible and may even net some cash. I might even take the wheels for my Allroad and trade some 8-holes. Might be worth a call to the consignor. The bumper, not so much. I think the market is correct, it’s between a $25k and $35k car as it sits.

I agree about reverting the car back to black bumper inserts. And orange turn signals.
I think keeping the lower cladding the original color, Mussel Gray, looks nicer when the car is Smoke Silver. I'm a fan of the two-tone look when the car is Smoke-Silver ---- I think the two tone look breaks up the visual mass -- as below (although the below car is a post-facelift car)

If you want to nit pick it, it needs euro headlights and something needs to be done with the grill frame/grill. Wheels are less than exciting as well.

That was Benz’s car. He bought it from Eddie Lai (Flying Tigers in Canada,) imported it to Chicago, put some nice R129 wheels on it and stuff, and sold it for 50K + fees on BaT. I think Benz was gonna move to Poland or sumpin’.

Wheels are less than exciting as well.

I agree, @2phast —- those 1552 wheels look really interesting and the offset is really aggressive but when installed on a w124 it looks hokey. I spent some time staring at the pics and I think the reason the wheels look hokey is because the w124 usually looks best with wheels that have a flatter face. Those 1552 wheels have a big circular inset area right in the area where the lug bolts ago, and I think that inset area causes the hokiness.

To me they look to bulky and to heavy and should be on a truck. They have “NO FINESSE”

I'm sure someone with skills can link us to this car that just popped up. Looks nice, 130,000 miles, although there are some discrepancies in the ad. They are calling what looks like Fifteen 52 wheels factory "evos". The car has also had the lowers painted.

I'll say it again...Smoke Silver looks so nice when it's fresh.

This 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500E is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) over Parchment Leather (275), this 500E is powered by a 5.0L M119 V8 and paired with a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. 1 of only 4,416 produced for 1992. That year only. Were imported into the US market.

Service in early 2025 included A level service, power steering pump, power steering return line, fuel pump, fuel filter service, fuel line rebuild, accumulator replacement, engine and ac filter, brakes all around. Recently the car received a new wiring harness as well.

The city of Cumming is not that large. I'm surprised I've never seen or heard of this car locally. I'm not "on" Facebook but I can access it thru my girlfriend. Owner says he moved to Cumming in May of 2019. Appears to have or have had a Pagoda.
