Our British Columbian friend @amg_meister just posted a new video to his YouTube channel, which you can see here:

At the end of the video he gives props to this site as a source of information.

Much appreciated.

I have an “AMG MEISTER” sticker on the center lower rear windscreen of my 2007 E63 AMG — the only external marking on the entire car. Even the trunk is de-badged. This is how much I respect the @amg_meister and his expertise (and video channel!).

Great video. But it raises this question for me.

What are the criteria to add models to the list?
How to divide them?
In the comments i read about G-Wagen models in SWB, XL, XLWB and XXLWB, and LHD and RHD.

This would indeed give several more rare models.
But does it make sense?

It can also be subdivided into the different stages of engine power.
SL70 with 496, 510 and 525 PS.
Or into KE-Jetronic, LH-Jetronic, etcetera.
Low Compression versions.

When to stop. And when to add.
I haven't made up on this.

Anyone with suggestions?

I didn't know some R129 came with AMG VIN badge too.
Like this SL36.
Hardly visible though.

I thought these badges were only for BR124.

Cool, I actually own quite a few of them😁
my E36 AMG Cabrio even made it into the video ✅

It would be great to have a complete list of all VIN numbers from the EPC for the cars in the video, just for archival purposes, since the research has already been completed.

There's a table in one of the EPC databases that divides it by chassis and engine.

Early on, a SA code indicated a separate AMG model as well. This is what generally constitutes a distinct model. I do agree with that logic. So that could be any body style whether that's a saloon or estate or SWB/LWB etc. even with the same engine. The rest is in my opinion is on a case-by-case basis.

According to EPC the CLK63 BS is based on the same chassis and engine code as the CLK63 but those should be accounted separately. There's a significant presence of the CLK63 BS that is enough to justify it as a separate model.

I would consider the cutoff to be no change to the powertrain, driving experience and/or body of the car. Maybe an example of that could be the newer AMGs that are/were C63 vs C63s. Seems more like an option/package. Someone in the comments brought up a CL55 F1 Limited Edition. Not sure if I'd count that either. I think diving into lower compression ratios of the same engine would be pushing it too.

Maybe by the next big update video I would go over each body + engine combo and dump the production numbers although that will require knowledge on each chassis and certain SA codes. Maybe one day...

I did account for 13 S210 E60's so there's that update for next time. I wish the S210 E60 featured in the video wasn't that car as people generally see that on Google. I've had a number of "AMG <whatever model>" owners tell me I have the "E60 AMG" emblems backwards

They said it was a 60E? Huh..

If you look closely at the E60 featured in the video the emblems reads "AMG E60" and a few people with their new AMGs (AMG E53, AMG C43 etc.) at car shows I came cross find that normal (when Googling what a E60 wagon is and that silver wagon pops up) so when they see that my car's emblems are in the order of "E60 AMG" it's apparently wrong.

Love the video, in fact what's more fascinating was the W210 E55 with 4matic. I thought Mercedes/AMG never done that way and only done so for the W211 E63s AMG performance.

Two more 'apparently' fake AMG badges. Is nothing sacred anymore !!

But the last one even in a Fahrzeugbrief. Or is that fake too?
If i remember well it belonged to Talbir from UK.
