Hi,every discussion here about cam covers seals say-use only original seals! Today i asked our local MB dealer about seals and they say, that seals is no longer awaylable and only way is to buy them,is with cam covers 850.- eur per side! OMG. Even FCP sell only Elring or Reinz. So,what are my options here-use Reinz and hope, they will not leak or use new Reinz with some sealant?
Read here on topics, that people suffer Reinz seals leaks already after 3-4 months! Thank you.

This is incorrect information, I believe. The valve cover gaskets are still available from the dealer, but the 5 pieces are sold separately, instead of in a kit. The supercession data is NOT clear.

Elring or Reinz may be worth a try but DO NOT add any sealant!! Remember to replace the copper washers under each of the 9 bolts.

More info here, the main gasket is the same for .97x and .98x but you will need different round donuts for the .98x engines:

Thank you,sir!

What is the VIN number of your car? That is the best way for us to look it up in the MB parts system and tell you "for sure" the correct part numbers.
