My wagon has the 036 front end, fenders and bumpers. Don't forget the inner fenders of course. It's strictly bolt on, about 2 hours max, you'll need the side skirts of course but they wont line up with the rear fender.
Anyway, looking forward to many pics as progress makes it's way onto the board.

Yes, I'll be doing the body stuff once all the engine stuff is done. Body is the easy stuff. I just didn't want the all show no go.

So with new rubber on the front and rear, e500 front and rear brakes, minor tweakes to get the stance right.......I was looking under the car and thought....self....this car needs a big turbo.... Myself and my coworker feel that there is so much room.........I think it's a must have......
Well , I must say it's a lot of work. I'm going to list all the odds and ends that needed to be done when I leave the shop .
A quick video during the ride home, abs,asr and all other stock functions working perfect . Remember the car still has the 6cyl cluster in it, thus the tach and the speedo . Had a borrowed cluster to verify function of all gauges, speedo and tach. Car has a great sound and performance is great

The original Rhinelander/Gustav's on Sandy Blvd. in the Hollywood District is just a few blocks from my first house, and perhaps a 3 minute drive from my old house in Irvington. When I hosted the M-100 Group in Portland in 2001, we rented out the banquet room there for a group dinner.

I figured you would chime in on that. We went to the Sunnyside Gustav's last night. A few years ago we hosted a German exchange student. Her parents came over to pick her up and do a little US tour in the process, so we took them out to Gustav's in Hollywood and they had a blast. They loved the strolling accordian player singing in German. A couple that had been so reserved suddenly sprang to life. It was a good time. My daughter went to their home in Leipzig for four weeks the following summer.
We need a good german restaurant in mn, if you want good home cooking come to mn, but german food.....not so much.

How about we do all the above? I am working on a definition file . Need boost. You can change timing very easy with a simple made box. I did that on my other car to retard the timing for nitrous . You can change it in 5 steps. Kinda easy..
The walking accordion player guy has been working there for like 35 years! I forget his name. Really nice guy though.

Pat, those numbers are good for a non-WOT enrichment LH module (note A/F ratio right at 14). I usually see around 260hp with SAE correction for a 93-95 motor. You're at 254hp SAE, which is right in the ballpark. Stock wheels/tires might account for a few hp difference, plus a little for variation between different dynos.
Just did another pull, 304tq and 261 hp. Sae corrected

That's the stock muffler, 2.5 inch mandrel bent tig welded exhaust. Custom y pipe with no cat. Remember this car is a v8 swap, a 6 won't sound like that.
Yup, I saw you had both STD and SAE posted previously. 261 SAE is right on target. Get a 92 LH in there and it might bump to 270 SAE. Note that assuming 18% driveline loss, 261/0.82=318hp, within 1% of the rated 315.
You can play with exhaust mods, but everything I've tried so far (including cat delete) resulted in negligible, i.e near zero, gains via dragstrip testing. The stock system flows pretty well. Sounds like you already have cat-free, Y-pipe, and only a rear muffler. The lil' red wagon should scoot!
That is correct, mandrel y pipe,full mandrel bent to the stock water heater of a muffler to keep a stock look. Can't hear it while driving. I like it. I have a 92 computer I'm going to toss into it. It's still strapped to the dyno so what the heck. I should have done a baseline with the 6cyl....would have been fun....It's nice to have a dyno in the building with shop. My e55 is just about back together, that should be interesting to dyno. The last time it was run it did 641rwhp 730 ft pds. Just finished with the block, it's sleeved, bored to a 6.1 , custom cp pistons,massive ported heads,cnc valve job, everything is ceramic coated(valves,domes,chambers) balanced , ported blower,all custom arp studs(head,main,valve line) nitrous , ,machined sc clutch ,ported 82mm tab, massive heat exchangers, ice down tank full hand built headers......and on and on and on.....can't wait for that!!! The wagon is fun but.......
What's the most sad about the whole thing, I built it, lots of people said it wouldn't work....it drives great and everything works but I'm bored with it already.... Lol

Ive never seen a v8 wagon.....like ever. But it was fun.

So twin turbo or single , fuel management may be tricky. I best get on the definition file.
You still need to spend plenty of time and about 15K+ to make nice A124 with the M119 engine . The most exciting part is make an old mercedes better and better (condition wise).
In addition you can start gathering all possible options for 124 that you can install in A124. I do not know how come you get bored already ....
Single turbo, remote-mount would be the easiest install. Twin turbos up front would be a nightmare.
I dont see see any need in spending 15k.... I agree in making a old Benz really nice but, the only thing that this car has in store for it is some body to correct the crappy pass rear quarter that was repaired somewhere in its life, flare work in the rear,fenders, bumper and maybe ....just maybe a interior swap to black leather....o yeah and a really nice period correct Nardi wheel with the proper mount....
Update.... All the small minor bugs worked out, alignment done...such a fun car to drive has turned into my daily driver. Finishing the e55 but I'll do a exhaust thread when I build the exhaust. Bored with car, will be up for sale if anyone is interested.
Probably can't afford it, but just curious, is it for sale with the cream interior or the black interior? And does the black interior have heated seats?

LOL, you know I'll agree Dave... advantages of the STS-type remote turbo are better available space in that cavern occupied by the muffler, and not introducing a terrible source of heat into the engine compartment.
Well as of right now its the cream interior, it is a heated seat car that is in perfect shape. I am going to do the exhaust on it, dyno before and after.. exhaust is planned just finishing my other car first. And the wagon will be cheap, it needs some body work on the right rear quarter and some paint work due to peeling clear. engine and driveline are great. Drives great down the road and everything that should work does. $6900.00 bucks takes the car. Im just done with it. I get bored easy lol.
Does anyone else just sit back and shake their heads at the ability of some folks to pull stuff like this off? Basically three weeks of "Just get 'er done" attitude, after the day job, no less, combined with mad skilz and the outcome is a machine most of us would drool over, at least I would. Who is this Germanautoservice and why isn't his shop about 1500 miles closer to me? I patted myself on the back after successfully changing my rear struts, and you do stuff like this......Hats off to you sir!
