Vader, it took Klink 4.4 hours to do a 4-wheel alignment on vatc"s 500E.
You can't rush quality...
Those guys are obviously going with The Best or Nothing this weekend.

Did Gerry tell you that I've been retrofitting the gray switch about forever. It was first pointed out to me on a 190 glove box by a service advisor sometime in the 80s. Been retrofitting them to trunk lids since then. I'm sure that it accounts for so much of the "action" that I've seen in the last few decades...

It's actually called a "spreader bar" and it's an excellent follow-up to the gray switches. First you hook'em and reel 'em in with the switches, and then employ the spreader bar to keep things spread apart for easy access. The Wurth Cock Cleaner is used after the job is done.

Guys, Got a call from work early this morning; I told them I was busy with Cars and Coffee, and to send my paycheck at the end of the month.They don't seem to hold as high a view, as we, about our cars and were not ammused. . . So, we have to head back to NC. We had a great time putting faces with names and look forward to the next event!

This shot really shows how lighting and shadows can make the fenders look so much bigger or smaller.
I don't know if its the stance, the wheels or the 040 color, but I get many more people that comment on the wide fenders on my current 036 that my past other 2 combined.

I'm willing to bet most of that was in the rear wheels.
Most techs only do the front, so the rear adjustment is often
difficult, frozen fastners/adjustment bolts
Thanks for the vote of confidence, Clark. Just as you knew, they were seized up solid. If I had any access to parts at the time, I would've replaced them. I did manage to get them freed up without damaging them, so it came out well.
I will also venture to guess that Herr Honcho's stopwatch was running a little fast, but still I did not "beat time" on the job, that's for damn sure!
You will love it when you get it done. With all new front suspension parts and Klink's "secret sauce-biased front setup" was a sweet ride home, car went exactly where it was pointed, no skittishness, drifting or wandering. Absolutely no drama whatsoever. Glad to hear that the car ran cool on your trip home.
Without a doubt! Would have been a washout weekend for me without the efforts of either of Jono or Klink.
Oh yes Bing, there are 203 body 4-matics. Not surprisingly, they are fairly popular in the northeastern US and Canada. As far as I know, they were available almost anywhere MB cars were sold.

Learned all sorts of interesting little facts, too many to remember them all. One that I do remember is why OE and high quality replica wheels have those 5 little holes (the ones that fall in-between the lug bolt holes) in them. For the answer, see post #56.
