It seems that before the vehicle was turned into the insurance company, all of the valuable parts were just removed or replaced with incorrect parts. That is just what I can see on the surface, given that, a potential bidder may want to exercise caution, it may not be safe to assume the 6.0l motor is still in the car.

Unless you could verify that the motor in this car is a 6.0l, it would be a risky purchase. If it went cheap enough, then it might be a investment just to part out.

Picture was taken prior to the accident on 1/14/2019. Settled with the insurance last week. The nail in the coffin was the rear floor assembly was NLA and to a lesser extent the rear bumper (even if we found one used). The wheels are BBS RC 301 on the front and 304's on the rears.

Why don't you list what you took off the car, so any potential buyer knows what they are buying. Seems like there is doubt the 6.0l motor is still in the car, clarification would be nice.

i cant imagine a 6.0 engine being left in the car....before I get a car hauled away, I scavenge every penny, can never find two nuckels to rub together though....

what a lose, sad to see such a car like this.
I am interested in the wheels, I had a set of RC on my previous 500E

Michael,

Was this your car OR someone you know?

I found a couple of pennies on the sidewalk the other night in downtown Santa Rosa, CA, while walking back to my hotel from dinner. So I have had two pennies to rub together. It's brought me really good luck ever since !!

So find another nickel and start rubbing it with the one you have.

I found a Canadian penny and rubbed it with the M'erican penny I have in my pocket, but no such luck.....Honch, you have the magic touch with rubbing coins together.

Car is not sold... previous auction ends but they asked more money.
Why this e500 have swapped seats from regular w124?? 🤔
So that was 6.0 or not?? If it was, it could be now 4.2 since interior is swapped, engine could be too... plug and play.
$11,9k buy it now price it’s a joke... they will not sell it for that much...

Pretty simple. Previous owner wrecked car, decided to defraud the insurance company, removed all valuable parts and replaced with parts of lesser value. Made claim that this "special car" was worth north of 40k, insurance paid him and took the car, not knowing that everything of value was swapped out. Now Copart is left with a car supposedly worth way more than what they will ever get for it.

Originally the listing said the motor was 6.0l, now it says 5.0l.

It sure does seem that all the visible parts are from a E420. You can be 99.9% sure, the 6.0l motor isn't in the car. Probably a 4.2l as previously stated.

I don't think this car has 6.0 m119.974 this engine cost over 10k by itself. better to triple check prior purchase this car

Wonder what the new owner in the Netherlands found...?

In Poland they are specialists at repairing wrecks worse than this.
They even make one car out of two by welding two halves together, a practice that was banned in Germany & most of Europe many years ago.
They have been buying wrecked cars all over Europe for years, to be repaired back in Poland due to their very low labour costs.
I was recently at my shipper in Miami & saw several Mercedes & Porsche (seriously damaged) going to Poland

Photos attached.

Hard hit, but to @gsxr fixable by a determined party. I agree that welding a rear clip from a 500E would be the best way to go. To me, I agree with @TerryA that it's a rolling parts car.

Looks like the front seats were replaced with seats from a pedestrian W124.
