Vehicle description​

For sale is a true collector's item: the 1994 Mercedes-Benz E 500 Limited – in the extremely rare and limited-edition Sapphire Black (009). Only 951 examples of this exclusive limited edition were produced worldwide. This vehicle is in very good, honest condition with a beautiful patina – inside and out. And yet, it looks fresher than many newer cars.


The E 500 was developed in close collaboration with Porsche and assembled by hand. Each car traveled the route between Zuffenhausen and Sindelfingen twice – a true piece of automotive history.

Yes, you could say so indeed. 807 units (out of 951 Ltd's) had the birds eye maple wood, 144 buyers opted for the (pedestrian) burl walnut (as seems to be in the one above).

VIN appears to be WDB1240361C178562 (as per one of the pics). So, that would be #470/951. Originally delivered in (french speaking part of) Switzerland, first registration on Nov. 23, 1994 in kanton Vaud.

Not sure who can change the asking price in the title: in EUR it would be €0.11 not €0.19

In my view it is very disappointing that the handsfree has been installed on the wood, which is for me a mega blow to the value and to the car.


Swiss price point seems substantially higher currently towards EU cars. Then again, if you import an EU car to CH, you do have to pay taxes and registration fees in the area of 12.1%

245/45/R17 is standard for the Limited. There was an extra booklet delivered with the car (Which is shown on the picture) , explains the additional wheel option.

Key is that with 245 you are not allowed to use snow chains.

I'll check when I get back into the garage next week to see if I can scan it

245/45/17 is the correct tyre size for the 8.25" Evo wheels on any 036.

On a standard 124, the correct size for the same 8.25" wheels would be 235/45/17.

That part NLA? Otherwise, installation may be non-permanent (velcro, etc.). Neither: Bad News.

Hopefully it is just adhesive for both the Parrot controller and display.
