Here's a link to another Limited which sold a day or so ago on Collecting Cars.
A UK car, this one fetched £46500, compared to the Euros 75,000 (£64000) for the Limited which sold in Poland just a week earlier!
Any thoughts, anyone?

1994 MERCEDES-BENZ (W124) E500 LIMITED
KEY FACTS
- This Mercedes-Benz E500 is a handsome example of the lesser-seen Limited variant of the modern classic super saloon.
- Under the bonnet is a naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8, developing around 322bhp and sending it to the rear wheels via a smooth four-speed automatic transmission.
- In total, only 1,855 E500-badged examples were produced, of which 951 were Limited versions such as this.
- Originally delivered to Japan, the car was exported to the UK, and registered with the DVLA in April 2021.
- The odometer shows 85,097 Km on this three-owner example.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- Co-developed with Porsche, the E500 was built at the marque’s Zuffenhausen plant and features a wider track, a lower stance, flared wheel arches and substantial 320mm front brake discs with four-piston callipers as well as its potent V8 engine.
- This E500 is finished in the timeless combination of black, over a two-tone black and marble-effect green leather-trimmed interior, punctuated by walnut veneer trim inlays.
- It rides on the correct ‘Evo II’ six-spoke alloy wheels, housing red brake callipers and drilled and grooved discs, and fitted with Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres.
- Equipment includes a leather and wood-trimmed steering wheel, electrically adjustable and heated Recaro front seats with two-position driver’s memory, air conditioning, electric windows, CD radio, boot-mounted CD multichanger, electric sunroof, electrically retractable rear headrests, electric rear roller blind, alloy kick plates, and Mercedes-Benz black carpet mats with contrasting green edging.
CONDITION
- Please refer to the photo gallery to assess the exterior and interior condition.
- Specific notes from the seller include: The seller believes it is likely that the bonnet has been repainted in the past due to the lack of stone chips.
- The most recent MOT test was on 26 April 2023 at 84,945 Km, which resulted in a second-time pass with no advisories.
SERVICE HISTORY
- The seller states that the last maintenance was performed by Rogate Garage in April 2023. The remedial work carried out to secure the MOT test pass included a new offside rear fog lamp bulb, a replacement offside repeater, replacement front inner track rod end ball joints, replacement ball joint dust covers, headlamp projection adjustment, replacement rear light clusters, and a repair to the previously weeping steering box.
- Unfortunately there is minimal history with the car owing to a previous owner misplacing it.
SUMMARY
This W124-era Mercedes-Benz E500 Limited is a well-presented example of the rare 1990s super saloon, which is reported to be in good condition. Combining a generous factory specification, a powerful V8, and a capable chassis, the E500 Limited is an accomplished and sought-after modern classic, which should prove to be an exciting and unusual addition to any enthusiast’s collection.
The description of this consignment is, to the best of the seller’s knowledge, accurate and not misleading. Collecting Cars requests a range of detail about the lot from the seller and performs a level of due diligence. However, potential buyers must independently satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the description. Potential buyers should view or arrange inspections as well as conduct any research they feel is necessary before committing to bid or buy.
Please note that it is not uncommon for classic or collectible vehicles to have received cosmetic repairs in the past, either to rectify damage or refresh appearance, and this work may be undetectable even upon visual inspection. Unless there is an explicit statement by the seller to the contrary, please assume that any vehicle could have had bodywork or paintwork during its life. Furthermore, photographs may not reflect the true colour or full condition of the vehicle. It is a bidder’s responsibility to satisfy themselves of the colour and condition of a vehicle, including its interior and the existence of any remedial bodywork or paintwork, before committing to bid or buy. This includes by raising enquiries with the seller in the comments section.
For vehicles, unless otherwise stated, potential buyers should also assume that any cherished registration may be retained by the seller. Please see our Terms and Conditions for full details.
All UK-registered cars and motorbikes on Collecting Cars are run through an online HPI check. On the HPI report, this vehicle shows no insurance database markers for damage or theft. It is currently covered by a finance agreement.
