Nice looking car, I wonder how the blue leather (and the 6.0) has held up with all those miles on it. I'm a little confused about the connection with the Hungarian Professor and the coffin factory though.

I remember the car, the guy got it in 2008 and has been trying to sell it since 8 months after he got it: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/performance-paddock/240590-w124-e60-amg.html

He wanted 20.000 back then and now wants 18.000! The guy is insane

He can wait another 4 years then I guess, or maybe 8…

Also, he says he has nothing to hide. But here a few things he didn't mention:

The car had a lot of gearbox problems (not surprising) and had to be completely rebuilt, he spend around €4000 into that. Let's hope that it lasts this time!
The car has (or had) rust.
The car is not in the original colour anymore, it was repainted.
And finally, the car had an accident. Not very big, but if he has nothing to hide, he could have mentioned it:

I even have the feeling that you can still see it somehow, even after it was repaired:

Just use Google Translate.

Since he had the car he only had problems with it, and he made the mistake that he invested all of his money into it. If you're going to invest so much money (probably somewhere around 7, 8 or maybe even 10.000 Euros) into a car, then you should make sure that you're going to keep it for a long time. Now it's obvious that he's trying to get the money back that he invested into it. He should have sold it right away!

Whatever, I still have to laugh about the 20.000! He should consider himself lucky if he even gets half that price

PS: I'm not sure why the car is registered in Bulgaria when he lives in Romania.

Romania has a ridiculous tax called "pollution tax" and vehicles are being taxed at registration (when someone buys the car) based on engine displacement and also the so called "euro compliance".
As far as i know Euro 2 compliance was introduced sometimes in 1995 so this Benz is either Euro 1 or non-Euro compliance.

Either way, to have this car registered in Romania it costs over 20000 euro... that's why everyone is using Bulgaria for registration. Bulgaria has very light laws and regulations when it comes to registration. It is a big business over there. Too bad that this way of registering cars and using them in Romania leads also to insurance frauds or just plainly people having no insurance...

That's pretty major accident damage. Some 500E's would get written off with that damage in the USA.

I guess he didn't want to replace the bumper, rear panel below lid, and the lid. You can still see the waviness in the bumper and the rear panel. The trunk lid doesn't look flush with the body either.

That's exactly what happened to my car... But luckily there was no frame damage, still I had to replace pretty much the whole rear end (Quarter panels, bumper, trunk lid, and panel below trunk lid). Super expensive!!!

Its a bad hit...sad to say its common with the 036...always that stoned a$$hole with his t#rd mobile driving behind you.

Exactly! My idiot, stoned a$$hole was also a 17 year old playing hooky and according to his parents he had memory loss issues!

Good stuff Sanchez...folks will appreciate what you've seen and know.

What is an 'extension tube on the roof, front left' under the red 957 code though?

Very interesting, that of course explains a lot. Thanks for the info :)

Yep, I feel sorry for the guy who's selling it, but I just had to mention it. And I think that's one thing that you should definitely mention if you're selling a car.

What do you guys believe, is the frame heavily damaged? Also, I stalked the guy's profile on the other forum yesterday, wanted to check out his other posts. At some point he mentions that someone was ready to pay 17.000 Euros for it. I kind of hardly doubt that. He wants 18.000, he could have made a compromise and sold it for 17.000? He also states that only this one person was interested in the car, at the same time that isn't really surprising :hammerhead:

Edit:

Good stuff Sanchez...folks will appreciate what you've seen and know.

You're welcome :)

Where the car is based/located, some degree of creativity will make it roadworthy again, safely or not! :hammerhead:

There's only 2 957 E60 in Polar White and it points to the VIN on this thread according to the list of SA codes provided in the listing description.

Private seller is asking 499.000€ at 36kkm.
Maybe the seller has the price and mileage backwards

this shade of white is a strange color for a w124 e60.

500k km, difficult car to sell unless its a total steal. he should just keep it forever.

car looks a bit worn out too.
