I have a nice wood and leather Brabus style steering wheel off my last 1994 car that I want to install on my 1993 car. I need to change out the inter guts to do this right ? Anyone done this before is it pretty straight forward or ???

Its this wheel ........

Yes, you will need to switch over your cars guts to the new wheel, but it should be a bolt-up and only require simple hand tools. Probably 20 mins work tops once you have the wheels off and together side by side.

Be careful about the routing of the wires when you put things back together, and about the positioning of the wheel on the splines so that it's straight & proper on the splines.

Take some photos ... Would be a great how-to. I should have done this a couple of years ago when I did the swap of an earlier wheel onto my wife's 95 wagon.

Will that wheel's grey color work with the black interior, or are you going to dye it black?

You'll need to swap over the contact ring from your original 1993 wheel to the Brabus wheel. Pretty straightforward swap.

Thanks guys, looks like its not going to happen tonight as I could NOT get the center nut off that hold the wheel on the spline. Last time I did this it just look a bit of extra effort and it came off, this time its a no go.

If It ever get it off I will take some photos.

Its actually matches VERY well, I think it the camera flash that's making the color look more gray. I'll try to get a better photo if I get it installed.

It is probably anthracite colored, which is close to black.

When removing the steering wheel spline nut, use leverage. That is, if your using a socket wrench, use a 3 foot section of hollow pipe over the socket wrench, it will break free with minimal effort this way.

+1 a longer breaker bar makes short work of this. Use a helper to hold the wheel during loosening so you're not relying on the steering wheel lock to keep the wheel from turning.

Yep, otherwise the steering lock might snap. This nut is tight as hell !!

Hi.. did you ever get the wheel installed?
I have a really nice wood and leather steering wheel supposedly off a W124 (but from Latvia!). Spoke arrangements slightly diff, and my mech told me the mounting holes were different than on my 92 500e, so no go. I will take some pics of my new wheel's mounting end, but could you post a pic of your wheel's mounting end, and.. if you got the oem w124 off, of that one too? I'm going to see about having a machine shop make some kind of double plate thing because the wheel is really nice.
