@TML89…As I’ve ALWAYS taken Dave’s advice (as you would do well to do) and only once regretted it (the AmbietWeather weather station…), here goes:

Again, not meaning to cross any lines regarding forumdecorum (cool new word, no?).

northNH, I may have forgotten already - did you have an issue with your Ambient Weather station? We still like our WS-5000 unit (so far).

:duck:

I do really like mine, with 2 provisos, one major and one minor…
Hard to understand why in this day and age it’s tethered to plug-in 12V i.e. no internal battery power, thus unfortunate lack of mobility as it looses some daily data when unplugged to move around. Yours too?
And a paucity of moon data, only rough indication of phases, and no precise rise/set times like with the sun.
Has worked flawlessly and I look at it multiple times a day.
And after 2 years, the utility of barometric pressure remains a mystery, tho’ that’s on me.

Ugh. Yes - the display unit has no battery backup, just a "wall wart" power supply. I plug it into my UPS which powers my computer, so if there's a hiccup in main power, the weather station remains active. Not a big deal for me, but I agree it's a nuisance.

YES! I found this very annoying. Their marketing spin makes it sound like the display shows moonrise/moonset along with phase. In reality, this only appears on the ambientweather.net "dashbord", which requires logging in to your web browser. I was not happy about this. The display only shows an approximate moon phase. Grrr.

Weather in MT is a full-contact sport, we watch it quite frequently. Barometric pressure is of limited use to most people, except to note if there's a significant increase or decrease in pressure which generally indicates a weather system moving in or out of the area.

This is what led me to believe moonrise / moonset was shown on the LCD display:

However, the LCD display only shows moon phase:
