• Hi Guest !

    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. If you find helpful information, please register for full membership, and you'll find even more resources available. Feel free to ask questions, and make liberal use of the "Search" function to find answers.

We hope you will become an active contributor to the community!

    Sincerely,

Anybody planning on going?

I hope to be there as a spectator. If others are going, we could plan on parking together in the paddock area.

I am planning to go, if I am not traveling nor have family-related stuff going on.

We should do a mini-GTG (not as extensive as a few years back), but perhaps go out for a meal or order pizzas to the event, or something.

Sounds good to me!

Doubt I'll be able to make it this year... I'll let Stephen know with his arctic white 94...I'll ping Pat from Potomac as well..:)

jono

Can't make both, this and May 14-21, 2018 Starfest, because the May schedule is not yet known.

If I can't make Starfest, I'll try to make this one.

I'm planning on being there. This is coming up pretty quickly...we need to get some chatter on this phenomenal event!

Can someone post a link to the details of this event....

Mark E. and Jim L. should also be there with their 92's...they are both local; but not very vocal on this forum.

Laura and I will try very very hard to be there. Don't know whether I will take the E500 or the 560SEC, though...

Any interest in parking together? I still have the E500E poster board from the GTG a few years ago and will bring it with me.

I plan to arrive before 9am and will try to reserve space along the fence for anyone who lets me know in advance.

The weather is not looking great. If the event is held on Sunday and it has rained a lot the night before, I will be there without the 500E.

Unfortunately, I will not be in town on the rain date.

I don't know anything about the particular site of this event, but we've had 0.75" of rain so far out here. Forecast calling for mostly rain over next 24 hours.
Surprised that a car event would proceed in these conditions.

Today's forecast according to the Washington Post (Capital City Weather Gang) is not too bad:

Today (Sunday): It looks like much of the rain misses the metro area today, with one batch of rain focused well to the north and west, and another well to the south and east. Even so, we could still see an occasional shower or sprinkle. Mostly cloudy skies hold temperatures in check, with morning readings mainly in the upper 50s to low 60s, and afternoon highs reaching the mid-60s to near 70. Winds are light from the northeast around 5-10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

I think given the improved forecast, that I'm going to head on over to Vienna for the show. Hope to see you guys later on.

We hung around until just before 11am, ran into a bunch of friends, but none from here.
The turnout was a bit slim, but saw some nice cars.

I was there from just before 10 AM until 12:10 PM, just got home about 30 minutes ago. Some decent cars, including a couple of nice 124 coupes, the black Sportline being my favorite. A nicely presented 420SEL as well, and a stunning white, bone-stock 52XXX mile SoCal 560SEC.

I think I missed you by about 5-10 minutes. Talked to the owner of the black SportLine Coupe (agree, it looked Amazeballs!) for a while...said he bought it in Annapolis. I suggested he wander over here for the How-Tos and just general, friendly camaraderie.

I spoke at length to the owner of the white 1988 560SL that was right next to the black Sportline coupe. We were trading notes a bit, as I had a Cabernet Red 1987 560SL until 2014. He was a nice guy. Didn't talk to the owner of the coupe, as he wasn't there the couple of times when I walked by.

I think the gray/threatening weather impacted turnout for the event. We should plan another 500E Gathering for next year's DM, I think.

Here are the official photos of the event as posted by Omar.

Agreed! Is it now 3 years since the last one? Time flies when...you're old and tired all the time.

I was disappointed I couldn't make it yesterday.

Yes, kind of sad that some of us were there, but never saw each other. Maybe we need to have a lunch for the DC locals?
