Attached is a PDF containing wiring diagrams for the 1992 and 1993 500E, and the 1994 E500.

These should be used as reference documents and for troubleshooting, etc.

Cheers,
Gerry

Note that while these Mitchell diagrams are a good reference, they are not 100% accurate. For example, the headlight wiring diagrams show standard 124 lights, and do not indicate the proper schematics used on the 124.036 with auxiliary high beams and bumper fogs. Still, they are useful for general reference, but be careful if using them for diagnostic purposes.

Yes, these are NOT Gospel by any means. There are things like "Orthopedic Seats" charts in them that, of course, the E500E didn't come with on account of having Sport Recaros. But for general reference, they are helpful. I have always used the factory Electrical Troubleshooting Manual and associated wiring diagrams as the best reference.

Hi,

I'm missing wiring diagram of newer ASR, which has acceleration sensor. All the diagrams that I have found doesn't include that feature, even the diagrams targeted for my1994 is missing that function. The revised break force distribution went to production around 2/1993.

Does anybody have diagram of ASR where acceleration sensor is visble?

Efriam,

Mercedes did a poor job of documenting the changes on the late build 124's, at least for English-language documents. I'm not sure if it's any better in the German docs.

Anyway, the late 124.036 brake system is similar to the W140.04/.05/.07 and R129.076, I would check the documentation for those models.

The sensor (B24/2) resides under the rear seat. See FSM job 42-0700, section G.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!!

:welcome5:

Thanks Dave,

Okay, it seems that nobody else have found English versions of the diagrams. I have checked W140 diagrams (diakom.ru), there exists two versions. The one where sensor is connected to pins 22,23,24 of ASR controller and the other version in pins 1,23,34. After comparing the other docs of w124.036 I think that the latter one should be the same as w124.

I have found the sensor under the seat. Since there exists a fault code for the sensor, I'd like to check the wiring and function of the sensor before ordering new one.

Perhaps, I'll need to check German docs.

Hi,

Let's continue with wiring issues.

The electrical kick-down went dead (ie. the gas pedal flooring with Econ nor the B-selection of gearbox lever doesn't work, flooring with Sport selection is ok) and now I'm trying to find the root cause. I have checked all the available diagrams and MB docs without finding answers:

Q1: There exists four poles&wires in kick-down swich below gas pedal. What is the purpose for all of them, since the docs are showing only two poles and three wires?
Q2: Where do the X49/2 connector (backup lamp/starter lock-out switch connector) situated in w124.036? According to docs is should be located beside aircondition box below ignition lock, but that holder is empty.
Q3: Any practical hints to check the kick-down system.

(sorry not able to include screen capture from diagrams)

Hello,

I managed to fix the kickdown and first gear start problem. There existed two parallel root causes. The floor mat was on top of kickdown switch:doh:.
Inside B-selection switch of gear lever there was dirt between contacts causing high resistance preventing solenoid to work.

Actually there are six wires and four poles in kickdown switch of my car. So the wiring doesn't match the diagrams. The connector X49/2 (the connection point of transmission wirings) was found under the aircondition box behind radio.

Have 20MB file with schemes.
But site not allows me to attach it.
Can send it to someone with apropriate rules.
