WANTED 500E Euro headlights

I have a customer of mine that is looking for euro headlights for his 1993 500E. Just wanted to see if anyone has a set for sale.
He also is looking for a set of monoblocks.

Either that or you take a look at these (no affiliation). These headlights your customer is looking for are unfortunately very difficult to source and I've seen 500E lenses sell for the money this seller wants for entire units.

W124 500E headlights
€ 1,200 negotiable
73257 Baden-Württemberg - Köngen
We need space and clean up the basement. A few headlights from the w124 E500 or 500E are sold. Nothing broken or broken. With motors for the small wipers (wipers not included) and the fog lights. The glasses have normal signs of wear but no rough stone chips. Messages only, no calls, please. Thank you.

And it’s certainly better than the highway robbery that others are trying to perpetrate, like this clown (€ 2,499 for ONE headlamp):

:)Yup, I have sets of NOS units for the chap paying, and mine are a bargain at 4500 euros. Please contact me. 👍

For forum members only , I'll drop the prices to 4000 Euros a set for the early units. :deniro:

Are Euro lights for 400E and 500E the same? If so, I might have a pair I would part with.
NO. The 400E/E420 do not have the in-board "pencil beam" driving light like the 500E/E500 has.

The 400E/E420 Euro lamps are the same as the 4- and 6-cylinder cars' Euro lamps.

Remember that the 500E has the foglamps set into the front spoiler; the 400E/E420 use the inboard position on the headlamp for the fog-lamp, and have no lamps inset into the front spoiler.

To anyone running early US lights you may want to hoard a set of used standard facelift lights while they are still around. They can be converted to something very close to 036 lights with the proper lens. I'm sure the standard lights will be available for a long time to come through MB and from Europe but at what price? I have a couple sets.

I still have an almost new virtually perfect Euro 500E headlight set and would like to swap just the lenses for a like E500 lens set...
Or, I would sell the early one’s if I could find a late pair to buy...
STILL interested in trading my as-new set of RHD Euro 500E lenses (12 & 13-66) for an equivalent set of Euro E500 lenses (57 & 58-66).

As I have had thus far no takers for a lens swap I would let them go for somewhat less than the €#s tossed around here...

As an aside, has someone come up with an excellent product choice to add E500E-style spoiler-mounted fog lights to a pedestrian 124 i.e. one with E500E headlight lenses?

I don't know if this is possible without either swapping on an .036 bumper, or AMG Gen2 bumper (with modified C36 fog lights).

Or, using compact aftermarket fog lights mounted externally to the stock 124 bumper, but that may not look quite right.

Not willing to go this route...

I don’t believe it’s possible to do this well.
I’m thinking “let into” the standard spoiler.

This would be the best solution, but ugh, the cost. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

The problem is that the .036 fogs are very deep. They may protrude excessively from a stock bumper, but for a gas car that has nothing in that location, there might be enough space to fit the lamp assembly. I don't know anyone who has tried this.

Hi northNH,

I saw your posts about trading 500E for E500 lenses when you originally posted, but didn’t act on it, as I was thinking about at some point doing a conversion to a E500 look for which I had acquired lenses a while ago.

I’ve been on the fence for a while now and ended up deciding today that I won’t do that conversion, as I just love the square 500E look too much. So, if you are still looking, I’d be willing to trade my E500 lenses for your 500E lenses.

Big shout out to northNH and all those who created and maintain this forum- I really appreciate it!

Just completed the lens trade/swap with northNH and it’s another super easy, professional and courteous part buy/swap through this forum. Thus far I have had nothing but awesome transactions with really nice folks.

Thank you to all of you for making this a a great place and for helping each other out in light of the NLA problems we increasingly face for the E500E

In recent memory (the past 5+ years), I can only think of one situation with a member where a transaction went sour. I have yet to have a bad experience with anyone on the forum in terms of a bad transaction (me buying or me selling).
