Yes I've seen it. That project is quite incredible but unfortunately not something I could do with my expertise and humble bank balance. The reason I was interested in the Japanese one above was that it seems do-able, though I'm still undecided if I want the car to be a fast/comfortable cruiser or a track car. It has to be one or the other...

What's interesting about the car above is that it seems the owner has tried to retain both. The roll cage is attractive and beautifully made, and it looks like it won't affect rear passengers - it looks like the rear seats are still there.

The car also has a supercharged M119, carbon fibre bonnet, and a front bumper I have never seen before. Does anyone know where one can get one of those bumpers?

The front bumper appears to be an aftermarket item from Lorinser, Brabus, or similar tuner - it's not an MB or AMG item. Or at least not AMG Gen2... I can't quite tell from the small photos, but it could be a modified Gen1? I'd like to see photos of the supercharged engine. Do you have a link with more pictures?

BTW, as I mentioned before... you can have both a cruiser and track car. Just build one of each! You might end up with a whole fleet, like Talbir...

Chaps, for some reason you last post isn't appearing... could you re-post it?

Thanks!

I was saying that unfortunately i couldn't track down the website I found those pictures on but I know they didn't have any more. I was looking for engine bay pics but sadly only the above photos were posted.

Here is another pic of the same front bumper. This pic is actually from a Japanese 400E with a 6.2l engine.

....actually it won't let me upload. I get the following error:

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Incorrect string value: '\xC2\x83\xC2\x80\xC3\xA3...' for column 'real_filename' at row 1 [1366]

Drat! Email the photo to me, I'll try posting / uploading it from my end...

Update - see attached. I still can't tell what that bumper is. Could be a Gen1 AMG bumper, but it doesn't look quite right. It definitely looks out of place on a 94-95 facelift car. For reference, photos of the AMG kits are on my website here:

That bumper almost looks factory to me, with a lip or diffuser of some sort attached to the bottom.
