500E with M156 powertrain

So what’s your guys’ thought on this? I have been wondering if it’s possible to drop an M156 into a 500E and it seems this guy is hellbent on accomplishing just that. Sure looks like major, major surgery.....impressive for sure! Maybe a bit sacrilegious though?
🤷🏼‍♂️

I'd do it in a heartbeat (to a high-mile 036) if it was mostly a bolt-in, which I'm sure it isn't. I don't have welding/fabrication skillz.

I own a car with the M156 and believe me, that powertrain in the E500E would be insane. The chassis would become the limiting factor.

Allready made My point, the 036 has the M119 period, not even the two M120's are valid IMHO

M156 makes the same power as a 7.0L-7.4L M120 and is much easier to fit under the hood. And, it can spin to ~7500rpm.

There's no easy way to take an M119 to 550hp.

:burnout:

Yes, the problem with this is removal of things that make the 036 what it is. I can't imagine the car working as intended, SLS, computer driven functions, cruise control, etc. Low ROI, sacrilegious yes, lots of grins, of course.
