722.3 - flaring up badly when warm

So I'm at 1500 miles since rebuild, drained the fluid, all crystal clear, no shavings, no sediment, nothing!!!

Couldn't be happier!!! New filter, new gasket, closed it up, torqued all down, refilled with fresh fluids, and not planning on touching the tranny for another 20K miles :beerchug:

Excellent read.

Of the 9 MB's I own 3 are in need of either a complete rebuild or some variation of the aforementioned. Did we ever find those AMG parts numbers?
Did the NAG1 part work in the rebuild?

I received a quote for a manual transmission in a M117 car. The cost is quite unsettling.

I've seen an attempt at installing manuals in 129 SL's. It's not a straight forward task. I do wish the 129 M119 had a manual option. But that would defeat the purpose Mercedes had for the car.

That cap shouldn't turn a few times with out modifications...now the T bar underneath will...that said if you were successful in turning clockwise 3 times (9lbs) and no change.....get a new mod valve & cross your fingers.

I'd turn the new mod valve T bar 2X around before you put it in. And if you modify the white cap by grinding off the tabs you can spin in around w/o having to wiggle it off each time which is a pita..

Thank you so much for the suggestion on modifying the cap. I just replaced the modulator but left the cap off to be able to adjust more than half a turn, but after that I’d still be with basically no adjustment range.
