Hi Guys,

My on/off, volume control knob has broken (the little clear plastic tabs that hold it on) and it no longer will stay attached. Does anyone have one laying around they can part with?

This is from the stock 94 radio.

Thanks!

Andy

Pretty sure Becker will sell the knob, but they are MIGHTY proud of it... something close to $50 with shipping, IIRC...?

Last time I checked, which was about 2 years ago, Becker would not sell them. You could send your radio in and get a rebuild, which would get you a new knob, but you could not simply buy a new knob. I got a couple of them on the Internet via eBay, but I am nowhere near where I could look it up for you. Even then, like Dave said, with shipping and all it cost me about 50 bucks each...

Just checked eBay Thomas....nothing there!

Sorry should have stated "ebay.de". There's a few results on the search "mercedes becker drehknopf". Not sure if they'll fit your radio, but you can always email the seller(s) and ask. English is rarely a problem, and I saw atleast one of the sellers shipping worldwide.

I have a few spares from wrecking yards.

Thats what I was hoping. That someone would have a spare from a deceased radio.

Any chance you can send me one? I'm certainly willing to pay for it. The radio works fine, rebuild not needed, just a new knob.

Thanks!

Andy

I was able to snag one off a '93 300E during my visit to the local pick 'n pull this past weekend. If you still want/need it, pm me your mailing address.

Got my knob in the mail today. Thanks to Terry (vatc5637) for hookin' a brother up!! Best forum on the internet (thanks to Honch)!

That "500Eboard" character seemed to be quite slow on the draw, or evidently he didn't have the item in question. What a jerk.
