Had to replace one of the hoses at the back of the Engine, carefully putting my air filter housing to one side as I did so....

And Prompty lost one of clips - see the attached pic - could someone give me a part number, so I can order from parts.com - doing the air filter mounts at the same time, but I have the part numbers for those :D

Cancel that, I figured it out via MBpartsworld

FWIW - 0000943755 and 0000943555 For the one I needed

The Other one - on the left in the picture which I didn't lose - is 0000943355 and 0000943855

There are two types. Make sure you get the right one !!

Better yet, just get some used ones off of a wrecked 119 in a junqueyard.....

I got both - good to have a spare - and we weren't talking $$$$$$ here....

Maybe I need to go look again, but anytime I go to a junkyard in DFW - the second you say you are looking for anything European - be it Mercedes, Jaguar, or VW, its an immediate "NO" before you can even say the model.

The only exception was what used to be called Greenleaf and is now LKQ - who seem determined to become the Wal-mart of Salvage yards.....

Hopefully (or you can PM) alabassi can tell you which of the DFW area yards are the best. I think there are 2 or 3 good ones up there.

There are two or three decent yards here in Houston I go to with some regularity:

- LKQ Northville, on I-45 just south of the Beltway
- LKQ Wallisville, in SE Houston near the Loop and US-59
- Ryan's Auto Parts, in SW Houston near the Beltway south of I-10

All of them have a decent selection of 124s, 126s, 210s, 140s, etc.
I find that the LKQ yards are quite decent. There's a third LKQ yard in Houston but I haven't been there. They are pick n pull yards which I prefer.
I have come to know the owner of Ryan's pretty well and he is a REALLY nice guy. Gives me great deals on stuff, often free !

It's a great time of year to go to the yards in Texas. Nothing sucks more than sweating your @$$ off in 100 degree Houston heat/humidity trying to wrestle a MAF off of a 119 or injectors out of a 104 head ... trust me. You can and will soak a t-shirt totally through inside of 20 minutes.

Cheers,
Gerry

AFAIK all the LKQ yards in DFW are NOT pick and pull - you have to go to one of their Central Sales centers, one south of Dallas, the other in Haltom City, they see if they have the part in a yard, a order is placed, it is shipped to the sales center, then you have to come back and if you like it - you can then buy it. Only way they will ship to you is if they can send it to an actual shop.

All great in theory, but I got a Jaguar XK8 Drivers Seat from them, they hacked out the underseat wires with a Box cutter (Not exaggerating) and yanked the seat by putting a hook into the back and ruining the back - it was a great price, but I ended up having to use parts from my old seat to make one good one.

I love going through the yards and doing the pick and pull - but it seems to be a dying art - I will PM Alabassi when I have a spare weekend!

I happened to run into slownrusty in the LKQ Northville yard a few months ago, and we ended up going to a couple of yards together and spending some time scoring some AMG front, rear and side spoilers for him off of a 126 in the Wallisville yard. Had some great fun together !!
