Where to find ETA part number?

Hi Folks, Happy New Year!

Contacted Beckmann and was advised to provide ETA part number. Given the fragile state of underhood wiring I hope to limit my probing as much as possible.

Would someone kindly advise likely locations for this part number on my 1994 E500? Thanks in advance.

Have upper harness in hand and awaiting lower harness from Blue Ridge.

Now for your amusement:

Car was running great, parked in garage. Car sat for 2 weeks. Jumped in for last blast and car ran for crap. Barely made it back.

Almost immediately I found an empty bottle of PS fluid for Mrs. L’s SUV on my workbench. Bottle shape and size emulates that of the gas preserver for winter storage (my baby doesn’t see salt nor snow), ❄️ had poured into my tank the previous day. I of course panicked, thinking I had poured PS into gas tank. “Is that the root cause? Now what?”

Then I read about known issue with distributors. Slotting fix. Have had happen about a month ago. Figures. Had indy install caps and rotors in summer, sure he didn’t do this mod.

Hmmm. Maybe, just maybe . . . Asked and got relief when Mrs. told me she’d checked and topped off PS herself while I was away and put empty bottle there so I’d get refill.

So, slotting caps next order of business along with another set of seals, insulators, caps, rotors - it’s only money, right?

Any parts mfg and source recommendations for these warmly received.

It’s hard on both the psyche and the pocket owning one of these fickle beasts!

Click link below, scroll to the bottom, look at the photo for the ETA date decoding.

Don't replace the caps if they are recent-ish, just cut the vent slots. Ditto for the rotors/insulators, they're probably fine. While you're in there check for engine oil at the lower edge of the cap, if there's ANY trace of oil, find the source & fix it.

As I am disappointed when I see a thread describing a E500E problem and alternative solutions prematurely end without the poster stating the ultimate resolution, I feel compelled to undergo the deserved humiliation by sharing the solution to my “poor running after sitting” issue.

See the photo - left covering the throttle body when I hurriedly put things together to test before the storm. Having to subsequently check the ETA part number led to its discovery.

I am a simple man. Am I correct then that the part number for my 1994 E500 ETA is:

000 141 94 25?

Thanks in advance,

Charlie

Hi, could you advise me with Blue Ridge contact?
Im going to rebuild mine so looking for someone who can help me
Thank you

Blue Ridge ghosted me after several phone discussions and a commitment by him to provide me a lower wiring harness in mid-January. These calls occurred in December and again in early January. Since then dead silence, no responses to contact software on the website or voice mails. I can’t in good conscience give you his contact details. I saw him active on the forum several weeks ago.

Jonathan is always very busy, being one of very few shops capable of working on these cars. He is continually working with the same employee issues that effect the rest of the country presently. He has also had family matters arise recently. The best way to communicate with him is thru text.

Try him again.
