Anybody else have these obnoxious stickers on their sun visors? Is this a dealer applied thing or from the factory?

I believe those are dealer-applied, possibly part of some recall campaign, and possibly optional (i.e., the owner may have been able to decline having the decals added).

These are relatively rare items on a 124...

:klink:

us specific only.rarely or never seen one on a european spec car
and its a dealer thing" :)

+1 on US specific thing. It does not apply to W124 only, it applies to all cars sold on US market. Isn't it part of federal regulations? So far all of my cars imported from the States had this kind of stickers on sunvisors while identical cars sold on EU market didn't.

Can someone please provide the MB part numbers for these stickers mentioned? I need to order a few sets to add to my cars as authentic accessories.

Cheers,
Gerry

P/N's are visible on the decals in Ricardo's photos.

Those don't appear to be authentic/proper MB part numbers.
Those are valid "literature" part numbers. You may not be able to order them online, and you'll have to contact a dealer to check availability.

It's a good possibility these are NLA.

The more of these you plaster to the interior of your car the higher the value. I have three large and two small on my car. Anyone have me beat? Beware the knockoff stickers which is frowned upon by the MB club cognoscenti

I have put in an enquiry directly with MBNA MBUSA sources as to current availability of these two, notable, stickers. I will certainly report back as to what I hear.

If these stickers are no longer available, then RicardoD, indeed, has some very valuable parts on his hands.

Cheers,
Gerry

UPDATE 12:15 PM CDT, June 28th: I have been informed by highly reliable MBNA MBUSA sources, that these sticker part numbers are not found in the MB parts database, and do not appear to be valid MB part numbers.

Doing a bit more research......:mushroom::mushroom::mushroom:

A gen-u-whine MB sticker that is very similar has a normal MB-format part number on it, as evidenced here. The part number as shown on this sticker is 203 817 02 20. Current MB list price on this sticker appears to be USD $6.50.

It appears that this sticker of this identical format is/was used by a variety of European manufacturers, including MB, Porsche, Ferrari and others.

P.S. Yoink accepted.

The S-xxxx-xxx part number format is a valid Mercedes number format used for documentation, literature, and some decals (possibly, USA-specific decals).

Although the numbers S-2688-196 and S-2688-296 are not currently valid in MB systems, does not mean they were never used 20 years ago. Based on the number format it appears these decals are 1996 vintage. Maybe Klink knows if there was a recall of some type to add the decals upon customer request.

I think Ricardo's value just went up another few thou.

At what point with these stickers do the HP gains start to kick in?

And do the value of my original stickers supercede the value of a functional passenger side broken left mirror hinge? My Robert Fenton 92 500E replacement passenger side visor, sans 1994 OEM stickers, is now stuck on my parts shelf due to this dilemma.

:seesaw:

Very, very coincidentally (and with extreme thankfulness, given my earlier desire to get my hands on a set), I just came across the attached (see images below) in my parts stash -- a complete, unused set of airbag warning stickers, in new condition, in three different varieties.

These were part of a dealer prep pack associated with a 1995 E320 sedan, that was sold in December of 1995. The car was sold new at the time by Continental Motors, now known as Mercedes-Benz of Austin, TX. The stealership took delivery of the car in April, 1995, and it was delivered to the customer on December 28, 1995. The VIN number of the vehicle was WDBEA32E4SC245381.

I will put these up in the "Parts For Sale" section, but the price for them will be $1,000. I don't know if anyone is interested. If so, please PM me.

Sometimes, it's Christmas in July !!! :mushroom::jono:

Cheers,
Gerry
