Hello E500 Friends

Today I try to fix a Problem at my AlarmSystem (EWA).
I can't find the Alarm Horn (it was removed Years ago by the preowner)
Where is the original Place to put it? Was it like the other 124s near the ABS Unit?

Thanks in advance and best regards
Heinrich

Hello Heinrich, yes, the alarm horn is located near the ABS/ASR unit. It bolts to a small bracket in that area, the bracket was only retained by 1 bolt IIRC and may have also been removed by the preowner.

Thanks a lot for your answers. I've found the place, to put the horn, and surprise - the wiring was near by.

I'm also hunting for the Batterykiller. The idlecurrent is around 300mA - to much if the car is not a daily driver. If I pull out the Main Module (with the four 10A Fuses Nr. 011 545 97 32), the Current drops to about 20mA, which seems to be ok with Backup+ for Radio , EWA and Komfortmodule.
Are there any other Places in the Car to look for? The current flows over Fuse 9.

Have a good Weekend :)

Try pulling the LH module and see if the current draw is reduced.

You may also have corrosion in the 38-pin diagnostic socket which will also cause a large power drain - see thread below.

Thaks to all the Experts around here. I fixed it. The 38pin Connector was the bad boy. In another car, the automaic antenna has a similar failure.

Best regards

Heinrich
