missing CAN plastic cover

If you are referring to the plastic splash shield behind the CAN box, this was only used on very early models and is NLA.

Otherwise, you'll need to clarify what you're looking for...

Jeff is correct. It's a black metal cover with gasket embedded, and a round plastic cap for the diagnostic port. A new one is ~$50 and looks like it may not include the gasket or cap. I bet someone could get one from a 400E in a Pick & Pull for half that...

We have an E420 in our pick and pull here that has that cap. I'd bet I can get it for $10-20 in good condition. I've removed it to check the computers and then bolted it back on :)

Yep, they all had that sticker from the factory. It would be good to take exact measurements as to the location of this sticker for those who want to apply it.

I have seen this sticker removed from a number of cars over the years.

Eeeeek! And that reminds me ... that sticker is NOT included in this thread.

Cheers,
Gerry

I was thinking of going to that pick 'n pull next Saturday early AM. If I do, then I'll snag it and let you know. The car was several months ago up on top of two other cars, so I had to crawl to get it which wasn't fun (nor probably safe). It was stacked at the back of the lot (used to be on the ground) so I don't know if they were prepping it for crushing/scapping, or just getting it out of the way. In any case, I'll plan to head down there and if I get it, will let you know.

My CAN's cover has no label...it's too stealthy for labels.
Chicks dig labels....
