Can the car not crank over after installing the x11/4 diagnostic plug?

I replaced my old x11/4 diagnostic socket and followed the diagram, however, when trying to start up the car, it just cranks and not turn over.
Prior to installing the socket, I cranked it over and it started fine but afterwards, it does not.
Can this happen?
Another question? does anyone know what the second half of the socket part number is? the one for pins 23-38? I broke a few tabs but there is only the 1 tab #30 that held the black wire that was not damaged.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like something went wrong. Check all fuses, especially on the BM/GM. If you didn't disconnect the battery while working on X11/4 something could have shorted out. Also, I assume you mean the engine cranks (turns over) but will not fire. Next would be to figure out if you are missing spark, fuel, or both.

I haven't found a part number for the second half. You can scrounge good used ones from junkyard cars.
