ANOTHER QUESTION FOR THE ADMINISTRATORS!

I've just posted a new thread about an "Extreme Simple Green" cleaner.

I'm rather puzzled that its appears under "What's new", but not in "New posts". I think I've already asked for clarification about the difference in these two forums - the explanation of which I think I understood (!) - but would have thought from that, that this new topic submitted by me should be featured in "New Posts"?

This is not a "bitch", as I'm sure it will be read wherever it's placed - but further clarity would be appreciated!

Hah!

I've been puzzling over this myself for some time. I figured you're the author of the post it doesn't show up as a "new post".

If you post something yourself, it’s not going to show up in New Posts. It will show up in What’s New and also the list of ”Latest Posts” on the right side of the screen (if using a desktop) or bottom (mobile device, as attached). But not if you click “New Posts” at the top of the screen.

Honestly, this should be self-evident ... it’s not a bug or a flaw in the software; rather an innate and safe assumption.

Also, unlike the old forum, al posts are indexed and show up immediately. The old forum could be up to 15-20 mins before a new post made actually showed up as a new post.

Honestly, I'm not trying to pick a fight here - but I'm really struggling to understand how a new thread can be listed in "What's New " and "Latest threads", but not in "New Posts"? Sorry if I'm being a bit thick - but I can't see it's "self-evident"?

What's New encompasses EVERYTHING, such as Photo Albums, Wiki entries (once that is enabled), and new posts.

New Posts encompasses just and SOLELY new posts. With the assumption that if you authored a post, you don't need to see it again. Though as said there are two ways to see your own post -- What's New, and Recent Posts on the home page.

Don't worry, R44, my girlfriend just agreed with you and told me I'm full of shit. She blames the Facebook/Instagram effect for creating that expectation. But she agrees with you 100%.

But I'm not going to create custom changes to the forum code to accommodate this, as there are two other simple/easy ways to see your own new posts. :gvzgsxr:

I guess the reasoning of the forum creators is the same as that if you say something, you should know/remember what you said (at least within a reasonable period of time) and don't need to be reminded of it.
