Becker Autosound Bluetooth Conversion Options

As I posted in my owner thread, I recently had Becker Autosound refurb my 1492 head unit and retrofit Bluetooth. The way the Bluetooth mode is engaged following the conversion is different depending on the head unit you have. I thought this might be useful info for others considering this mod.

The mode listed in the PDF is the mode you need to have selected in order to pair your device with the radio. For example, for my 1492, I need to be in 'FM' radio mode. I then go into my device and select the 'JC-BT-AUDIO' selection. The FM station I was listening to is now replaced with my paired Bluetooth device. I turn off Bluetooth on my device, and my radio station is back. Pretty nifty!

I have a 1492 that I just removed and gave a thorough cleaning with deoxIT, because of the erratic volume problem.
I was able to disassemble it, remove the tape mechanism, and clean the volume pot completely.
Reassembly was pretty straightforward; the volume issue is resolved, and the tape and radio are working great. I have not checked out the CD player in the trunk yet.
I considered adjusting the playhead but decided to leave it alone.
It's a great little unit.

I've used them multiple times on the head units of my aircooled Porsches. The head unit on the E60 was refurbished with them as well by previous owner but due to model the bluetooth functions via the cassette tape mode. So I bought an NOS 180min cassette tape and the sound quality is great.
