Please help identified this broken wire that is under the driver side headlight that is connected to the red cap. Is there a replacement that can be purchase or can I just solder a wire to both ends?

Thanks in advance.

It's hard to find a broken wire in the picture. Are the wires you're referring to just unplugged? The red switch on the receiver is the high-side pressure switch.

The factory switch (004 820 68 10) comes with a wire harness and connectors (enclosed by white plastic in the pic below). The wire that the switch harness plugs into comes from under the headlight and has the other half of the blade-type connector.

Note: To remove the red switch, you have to evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Maybe someone has the part number for the actual blade-type connectors.

Thank you Jon. You are correct that the blade snapped off and I can not reconnect it. If it is for AC and not effecting the engine I can live with it for now.

Thanks again,
KC

You could leave it alone, but you will lose that safety feature for the a/c system. I would just strip down the insulation on the wires and twist them together (solder if you want), until you can do a more permanent fix. Cover the connection with electrical tape.

There are kits you can order on Amazon and elsewhere with assorted wire connectors. Maybe someone here will know if the blade-type connectors are still available through Mercedes Benz. If so, I would also be interested in ordering some.

Thanks Jon. I will take your advice and temporary connect them.
