C-Pillar Covering

This style pillar covering is found on some of the German W124 sedans (possibly an AMG or other tuner accent?). I doubt the vents are functional (I don't remember anything behind the cover besides the roof to body seam), but the style is appealing.

The standard pillar covering is p/n 124 698 15 30 (left) & 124 698 16 30 (right). Do any members know the part numbers for these style pillar coverings?

I believe you are correct. I just checked pictures & verified the design in a W201 forum.

I also took a closer look at my W124. Its cover looks longer & narrower than those shown in the pictures. Still, an attractive styling touch.

I'll keep my eyes open for a pair next time I visit the junkyard & do an actual comparison.

It was a W201 specific feature and I've never seen it on a W124 nor available on the aftermarket for the W124 chassis. I guess if it was somehow functional it could be cool....
