Jack point cover update

I just received my jack point cover from AutoClassicX. I couldn’t be happier with the reproduction part. It needs to be painted but besides that it is a match for the original. You have to order 4 and they are expensive. The part is shipped from Poland so it take 2-3 weeks to get the part. I will paint it today and put it on

That's great news! What was the total cost (for 4) including shipping across the pond? Are you planning to rattle-can them?

The cost was $130 for 4 of them. I ordered the rattle can paint from paint express. I am going to paint them later today.

That's not expensive at all! I paid 80 usd for just one few years ago

Keep us posted how the paint express rattle cans work out. I've had consistently terrible results from rattle cans but it might just be user error...

My painting experiences are terrible. I am hoping for the best.

Multiple thin coats are best. Three to four very thin coats. Then clear coat it.

i did mine with the rattle can from and it turned out ok.. but my car is smoke silver so that's an easier color

If you can get some 2k type clear lacquer in aerosol can format from an auto paint supplier

For the first time in my life I did a pretty good job of painting. Not perfect but good enough. Four coats of color and two coats of clear coat
The original is a litter darker. The orginal is on the right
