Hello, my cabin air fan just stopped working and does not send air on any of the 4 speeds. I have had problems last year with the fuse burning when going on the highest speed. Is there any way to test if it is the motor that has broken without dismantling everything to get to it? Is it possible to repair the motor or do I buy a new one? The fuse is not burnt.

Do you have manual climate control, or automatic?

The 30A strip fuse has been confirmed to be good with a meter, not just visually inspected?

:detective:

If you mean the strip fuse right next to the fuse box it is fine. Checked with a meter. But that fuse burnt last year to but I replaced it before I even noticed the fan had stopped working.

Remember that dielectric grease is an insulator, not a conductor, and should not be applied between metal contacts. Use DeOxit or similar conduction-enhancing goo at metal contacts if there is some corrosion / oxidation present. In general, most electric contacts will be fine if clean & dry. A protective coating of some sort externally won't hurt.

:shocking:

Dielectric grease is an excellent protector for battery terminals to PREVENT corrosion or oxidation, and that is the spirit in which I mentioned and recommended it.

Separately, it is specifically recommended by my boat’s manufacturer to protect the marine battery terminals for both the starting and house battery systems. I would recommend it over Vaseline, for this purpose.
