Is it possible to change the GPI without removing other parts? Today when I checked it out it seemd quite tight over there...Thanks to GSXR I've managed to point out that it's toasted and has to be changed.

Yours is the same except that you have to deal with the B switch. Rik Carlson (2phast) has some good pictures of the B switch on his website where he describes his FGS install.

First time I did this it took me about 1 1/2 hours. Once you know how, it's a ten minute job.

The part I'm refering to is on the left side of the tranny, aka back-up light switch i think. But thanks anyway!

Pretty sure when I changed mine, nothing else had to be removed, and I did it with the tranny in place. I don't think I had to lower the tranny, but for a little more room, you can un-bolt the rear transmission support and lower it an inch or two. Clearance is VERY tight though.

Are we talking about the Neutral Safety Switch? I changed mine without removing anything else or lowering the trans. Space available to work in is tight, but not as bad as it looks. Only two bolts and the electrical connection to undo. Remember to align using a suitable diameter (4 mm?), short pin. I cut a drill bit down to about an inch and a half length to fit in there.

Yep, that's it... neutral safety (aka starter lockout), backup light, and gear position indicator, all in one multi-function switch. I used a piece of electrical wire with thick insulation that happened to be around 4mm, that worked great... I was able to make an "L" shape to more easily fit into the cramped space.

OK, I am having a little trouble finding the starter lockout switch on the EPC and where its located...hints..?

TIA..

You have to look up vertically from underneath the car, and you'll see it. There's a swiveling lock that retains the large round plug onto the switch. You'll have to rotate that with your fingers or the end of a flat-blade screwdriver. It's pretty easy DIY. Just look at my previous write-up (which DerFuror also quoted) as to the process. Have to make sure everything is well-aligned when you put the new switch on.

Cheers,
Gerry
