Hello

Wich oil should i use for the rear diff on castrols website its suggesting for 75w-140.
and the power steering fluid is it atf or someting else

thank you

Differential would typically be 75W-90 or 85W-90, IIRC.

Genuine Mercedes power steering fluid is preferred, Dexron-rated ATF is also acceptable.

i think its never changed what should i use for the diff
and is there a number for power steering oil
thank you

Use standard non-synthetic gear oil for the stock/factory differential (non-limited-slip).

Mercedes p/s fluid is either Q1-46-0001 or Q1-46-0002 (the 0001 has been replaced/superceded to 0002).

I thought you were using Motul Gear 300 75W-90 now. It is synthetic.
Yes - for my Wavetrac limited-slip, only Motul Gear 300!

For standard / stock differential, best to use non-synthetic... I've had leakage problems when switching to synthetic. The factory specified rear cover sealant is standard Hylomar and it synthetic will leak through that stuff. If you remove the diff, replace the side seals, and use different sealant on the rear cover - then yup, no problems using synthetic gear oil with the stock diff.

Hmmm, I’ve been using Motul Gear 300 75W-90 for ever (without replacing the side seals) and have had no leaks at all. Don’t recall if the sealant in the rear cover was changed at that time.
