Wavetrac differential installation manual?

Hi,

I took my diff to Indy workshop to fix leaking seals and for Wavetrack installation+respray diff.
Indy shop has previously installed Kleemann and Quaife locks but no Wavetrack and asked if I happen to have installation manual available. I bet that they will get lock properly mounted but asked just in case..

Unfortunately Wavetrack package did not include installation manual and I haven't found it online so if anyone dear board members happen to have that manual I highly appreciate. :hugs:

Thanks,

Joonas

PS. Indy shop is about to use aftermarket seals for the diff. They told that seals are similar as OE ones.. Are they ok, or should I request to use MB seals?

There are no instructions from Wavetrac. Installation is the same as a stock differential, the only difference is a different locking clip is used to keep the stub axles retained (these clips should have been supplied with the Wavetrac unit).

Aftermarket seals are probably OK if they are OEM (Bruss, Corteco, etc) but OE/Genuine seals are not expensive... I'd use MB seals if available. Hopefully the shop knows how to check case preload and gearset backlash, AND how to adjust those via shims as needed... many shops never do this type of work and have no idea what is involved.

:duck:

Thanks.

Hmm, mine package did not include those clips. I bought unit years ago via friend with amazon.. Does anybody know can they purchased separately or can MB parts be used?

They will check the backslash and I think that they have right tools to check preload. At least the will use that blue color to check the gearing. They have installed multiple locks and are familiar with Mercedes diff so I think that they know what they are doing.
