Hello All
I am continually having problems with dampness in the caps I've tried every way possible but it keeps returning. Is it possible to upgrade to some form transistorised
Ignition? if so what parts are required and is it a DIY job. My car is WDB1240361B423426
Very grateful for any help and advice

Converting to a different ignition system is difficult and expensive, with little benefit. Definitely not a DIY and I've never seen anyone do it (yet).

Have you replaced the distributor caps, rotors, AND insulators all at the same time (not at different times)? If so, what are the specific problems/symptoms you are having?

:mushroom:

I used to have this issue with BOSCH caps, constantly having damp in the caps.

I switched to Beru and I have had not had any problems in at-least 1 year.

Thanks yes I do use Bosch caps and have changed everything at the same time however I have not tried Beru Caps which I will thanks
to Matin

What are the part numbers for Beru distributor caps and rotors for a 1994 E500?
Bill, see post #15 here:
